Metta Cafe

During our 10-day trip to Leh, our group visited Metta Cafe once, and it was an experience we won't forget. Located near the Leh Main Market, the cafe is ideally situated for a peaceful break while exploring the town. What We Tried: * Hot Chocolate: The hot chocolate was rich, warm, and the perfect treat to enjoy in Leh's chilly weather. * Mushroom Khambir Sandwich: This unique sandwich was a delightful local twist, and the flavors were fantastic. * Broccoli Mushroom Pizza & Margherita Pizza: Both pizzas were delicious--crispy crusts, fresh ingredients, and perfectly baked. * Cappuccino: The cappuccino was well-made and had a great balance of coffee and milk. Ambiance: Metta Cafe has a cozy and inviting atmosphere, with an aesthetically pleasing decor that adds to its charm. There's a lovely book corner for those who want to unwind with a good read, and downstairs, there's open seating for those who prefer a more relaxed vibe. The upstairs area is especially cozy with vines adding a beautiful touch to the space. Special Mention: The owner of Metta Cafe is someone our friends and family knew, which made our visit even more special. It's always great to find a place with a personal connection! Verdict: If you're in Leh, Metta Cafe is definitely worth a visit. The food, drinks, and cozy atmosphere make it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy some quality time with friends or family. Highly recommend!

Metta cafe is a small hidden gem on the busy streets of Leh. It has small entrance amidst many shops around that transports you to the European street style cafes! Vietnamese cold brew and hot chocolate is a must tryCafe latte is comfort and ladakh delight (espresso shot + apricot juice) is something new to try if you are espresso fan. Hot chocolate is the best in town!

We enjoyed the waffles with chocolate sauce toppings was delicious, but slightly crumbly on the bottom. A bit overpriced, but the cafe is aesthetic and good books were made up for it. Loved the outdoor seating arrangement. EatHearty! I regret that my pictures didn't get added after many tries :(

Amazing food and even better coffee. Lady is really rude. We went there twice and her reaction was the same. Probably doesn't like Indians. Saw the same reaction towards other Indians but a really pleasant behaviour towards non Indians The atmosphere is good as there's good music.

A cute cafe tucked away some miles away from the main Leh market. They have a limited menu but at the same time offer vegan, vegetarian and non vegetarian options on whatever they serve. Each and every thing that we tried there was finger licking and scrumptious. Since, it is a boutique cafe fully run by 2-3 people, the service is a little slow but overall it's a lovely experience. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. There were some 10 of us who sat outdoors for breakfast. The weather was great that day. All of us had a great time chit chatting, laughing, eating and enjoying ourselves. The place has a very comfortable and welcoming vibe. They also have a mini library set where you can sip, read and enjoy your time alone. This makes it a great place to visit in groups or alone. The staff is also very polite, helpful and courteous. I also liked their idea of keeping Mondays off of themselves as a corporate revenge, as the place is run by some 2-3 people who have faced the torment of the corporate world in their early lives.

IN THE LAST HOUR I HAD THE BEST MEAL IN LADAKH SO FAR. This place, @mettacafeleh was recommended to me by someone from the stay (Sanjay Leela) who had earlier visted this place with his friends. I tried their "Grilled Veg Khambirwich" and I just didn't wanted it to finish. It was super delicious, a very different touch to it is what I felt even when I held it. The time it took to prepare was definitely worth the wait! Tanvi started this place in 2018. She along with Madura and other staff handle the whole place really well, the ambience, music and service (in my view) were top notch. You can also work from here, they've got power backup when nearly the whole Leh town didn't have any power, the wifi speed it smooth for you to undertake concentrated work. Highly recommend anyone wanting to grab a good breakfast/brunch/evening snack. PS: Not a paid promotion, just outta my genuine liking for the place and food.

A really small and nice little place near the main market! Just check for the directions... the cafe is behind the facade of the main location and a door will lead you there... Must have - Mocha coffee or a Hot chocolate if you don't want to have some coffee... The pizza (plain Margherita) was a great addition to the meal. The Coffee is worth the price.
