Customer Reviews & Testimonials
Review: Khorikaa Restaurant, Guwahati Khorikaa is an Assamese traditional restaurant that we visited with high hopes. The overall vibe of the place is just okay. We ordered the Assamese veg thali, which turned out to be quite good -- simple, flavorful, and satisfying. However, we also tried the pork with ou tenga and duck with bamboo shoot, based on Google reviews as they were among the most recommended dishes. Honestly, both were a huge disappointment. The taste was nowhere close to what we expected -- it felt completely off and didn't do justice to the richness of Assamese cuisine. Don't fall for the hype around these items. But the most concerning part was food hygiene. We found two strands of hair in our food, and when we informed the staff, they were shockingly indifferent and didn't take it seriously. For a restaurant that serves traditional food and claims authenticity, such a lack of basic hygiene and responsibility is unacceptable. If you're visiting for the veg thali, it might be worth a try. But overall, the experience was below average and definitely not something we'd recommend.
Good food , nice set up and courteous and helpful staff , had a good time. All items were fresh , tasty and home made style
I had Assamese Veg Thaali here Food wasn't really hot, probably due to winter (not sure) Good variety of dishes Service good Unlimited thaali at a very nominal rate Ambience okay Can definitely try Extremely budget friendly
Must try Special Thali! Duck guard is the champion of thali! Pigeon and banana flower curry fights with champion dish! Masor Tenga (Akiri fish) is divine one of the best dish of Indian:-)
Our driver in Guwahati recommended this place to try out authentic Assamese food. The flavours were out of this world. I fell in love with Khar, something I have never tried before. The portions were absolute huge, all of us were struggling to finish what was infront of us. When the bill came, we were so shocked at how cheap it was!!!! If I lived in Guwahati, I would most definitely eat there every week. The only negative of this place is the hygienic conditions of the toilets. It was vile. The smell, marks, rubbish everywhere. It was so disappointing to see that considering how well maintained the rest of the restaurant is. They should have better cleaning systems!
I would love to visit Khorikaa again. The food was delicious, the portion was more than sufficient. The ambience is superb. I love the service. The food was awesome. We ordered veg thali with Mowa fish fry and mutton. We all enjoyed eating. The thali itself is fulfilling and the quality of each item was outstanding. We will visit again.
Value for money. The food taste good and the service was satisfying. We went there for lunch with my family and my two year old son. They provided us with a cute and delicious baby thali to our surprise, which my son enjoyed eating. I really like gesture. Thanks for that
Khorika.....a beautiful place for traditional Assamese Cuisine...had Haahe Maahe ( Duck with black Dal)...tasty food served my Satiety... I would recommend to use traditional bowls for veggies which will cherry on the top...
