Customer Reviews & Testimonials
This place is incredible! We came at 5pm for sunset dinner, the view was beautiful, live band was great and the atmosphere was so elegant and relaxing without feeling pretentious at all! The menu is fine dining, we ordered calamari, prawn sushi, duck breast and chicken and every dish was 10/10 so I'm shocked at other reviews calling the food average! After dinner we moved over to the bar area for one more drink and continued enjoying the night time view and band - we had a great evening!
The service was excellent. We were stuck in traffic and running late, but stayed in touch via WhatsApp--the restaurant responded quickly and was very understanding. The view here is great, and it's definitely a beautiful restaurant. The siphon pot soup felt more about presentation than substance, though it was still quite tasty. However, the chawanmushi wasn't silky enough. The tacos were basically a disaster--very strange texture. All the fried elements, like the tempura, had batter that was too thick and didn't taste good. The taco sauces also lacked depth; both tacos were pretty much a miss. Yuki's pork ribs were tender but quite fatty, so they get greasy after a few bites. The prices aren't cheap, and honestly, the pork ribs at some roadside stalls have better value. The watermelon kombucha was awful--do not order it. Overall, the view here is fantastic and the service is great, but the food is just average. Come only if the setting is more important to you than the food.
If you want good vibes and great pictures, this is the place to come. Beautiful views and the restaurant and service are great. If you're looking for the full package with good vibes and good food, unfortunately, this isn't the place. The presentation of the food is excellent, but the food itself leaves little to be desired and is overpriced for what you get. I'm a foodie and would prefer to go to a dive with good food opposed to a vibe with average food.
Great Spot for Afternoon Drinks with a Beautiful View Sayan House is my favorite place for afternoon drinks. It has an amazing view of the Four Seasons from a distance, showing the beauty and richness of the area. The atmosphere is calm and stylish, making it a perfect place to relax. The drinks are tasty and good quality. It's not the cheapest place, but the view and overall experience make it worth the price. The design of the place is also beautiful and fits well with the surroundings. It's also a nice spot for lunch. I often bring friends here to show them how beautiful and special this place is. Sayan House always gives a great experience with good drinks and a fantastic view -- highly recommended!
This restaurant was recommended by our Villa manager and we are glad they recommended it! Whilst it is a little bit further out of the centre of Ubud, this does mean that it's able to have the most amazing setting for a restaurant we experienced in Ubud. I'd recommend booking a table for around 6, as you are able to see the sunset over the wonderful view the restaurant has to offer. Food is on the pricey side for Ubud, but it is great and the service the staff provided was outstanding.
What a beautiful experience! Sayan House completely exceeded my expectations. The food was incredible the avocado roll was light and perfect! so fresh,. Paired it with a chilled glass of Australian Sauvignon Blanc and honestly, I was in heaven. The view was Unreal it felt like a dream. And the staff were so warm and welcoming, I felt truly cared for from the moment I walked in. It's rare to find a place that nails everything but they did it!
The Sayan House was an unforgettable experience, combining stunning views with an intimate and elegant atmosphere. Dining on the open-air terrace at sunset was truly magical, with the lush jungle and river gorge creating a breathtaking backdrop. The fusion of Japanese and Latin flavors was both creative and delicious, with every dish beautifully presented and thoughtfully prepared. The cocktails were equally impressive, expertly crafted and perfectly complementing the meal. Service was warm, attentive, and professional, adding to the overall experience. A perfect spot for a romantic evening or a special night out in Ubud--highly recommended.
Came for dinner. Friendly and dedicated staff, great cocktails, the food though was a miss. My partner got duck that was very hard to chew, and mushy mashed potatoes. I got steak that apparently comes sliced, there were no other options, and it was not specified that it's just sliced meat (hence more surface exposure to bacteria). The texture and taste felt off, like it was pre-warmed. Later that night I got severely intoxicated (not bali belly), that was quickly fixed with activated charcoal. In conclusion, if I ever come back for the atmosphere and the great views, I'll stick to a drink/coffee and a snack. Take care and stock up on activated charcoal even if you go to a fancy restaurant
