Customer Reviews & Testimonials
Good chicken but bad service No tissues on the table, waiters were rude on asking for cold water. The drinks were overly sweet and too expensive and not that great. Tandoori chicken and garlic Naan were good. Butter chicken is overhyped and you can get better elsewhere.
Horrible customer service at the front desk, don't bother reserving a table, i had booked a table for 12.30pm, we reached at 12.32 but the person at the desk didn't even bother to check and i was waiting for 10-15 mins till i left without update on my reservation as i completely ignored in the crowd, the lack of respect at the front desk made me leave the place. Please be ready to wait an hour in the heat outside to have food. On top of that, the sheer ignorance of the people at the front desk is appalling. We went to the nearby restaurant- Havemore (they serve Non-Veg).
I recieved numerous recommendations for this restaurant so I tried it out with one of my colleagues. We got there around 7:30 pm so it was not very busy but it got super busy around 8:30 pm and onwards. For drinks we ordered the Kesar Elaichi Lassi and a bottle of water. For food we ordered the Paneer Tikka Lajawab, Butter Chicken (Murgh Makhal), some butter naans and parathas. For dessert we ordered Gulab Jamun. I never knew this was served warm and it was one of my favorites. Overall really nice food, drinks and dessert!
We waited almost an hour until 11pm but it was worthy. Reasonable prices, not too expensive, big portions and professional service.
We visited Gulati in Navratra, after a long wait of 45 minutes, finally got a table. Somehow got hold of the waiters, ordered Palak Patta chaat, Sabudana Bhelpuri, Tandoori Paneer in starters - taste of all items was bland and tasteless, there was no flavour in food. In main course we ordered Dal Makhani and Paneer Lababdar with Chur chur naan and mirch parantha. - Dal makhani was edible, Paneer was a bit sweet, the chur chur naan and mirch parantha was again tasteless, we had to leave most of it, basically there food is tasteless without onion garlic. The phalsa shikanji was good, Jaljeera tasted weird and had to leave it. The biggest disappointment was Saunf - it had coconut in it which further added to the disappointment. Overall an overhyped place, best to avoid!
**Expectation vs Reality:** I was hoping for a calm and decent dining experience, but it turned out to be a complete letdown. The place was overcrowded, noisy, and far from relaxing. **Pricey for No Reason:** The cost was way too high for what was offered. At this price point, I expected much better quality and ambiance. **Waiting Game:** Be prepared to wait! The average waiting time is around **1 hour**, so bring your patience (and maybe a snack) along with you. **Better Options Available:** Honestly, there are **much better restaurants** in the same price range that offer better food, service, and atmosphere. **Final Verdict:** Unfortunately, this place didn't live up to the hype. I wouldn't recommend it, especially if you're looking for a peaceful and enjoyable dining experience.
A Tasty but Overhyped Experience I recently visited Gulati at Pandara Road, and my experience was a mixed bag. While the food was tasty, it didn't quite live up to the hype surrounding this popular eatery. Food: 3.5/5 The dishes I ordered were flavorful, but nothing extraordinary. The quality was good, but not exceptional. Given the prices, I expected a more memorable culinary experience. Ambiance: 3/5 The ambiance was decent, but not impressive. The restaurant was bustling, which added to the energy, but the decor was nothing special. Staff/Service: 3/5 Unfortunately, the service was a letdown. The staff seemed lethargic and, at times, rude. For a fine dining establishment, especially one as expensive as Gulati, I expect more polished service. The staff could benefit from grooming and training on communication skills. Overall, Gulati at Pandara Road is an average dining experience. While the food is tasty, the high prices and subpar service make it a less desirable option. Be prepared for a wait, as this place is always crowded.
Food is heavenly. The chicken tikkas were cooked to perfection, tender and juicy with the perfect amount of burn and bursting with flavour. Mutton Galouti Kebabs were so soft that they melt in the mouth. Butter Chicken is obviously the must try here along with Butter Naan. Vegetarian starters and main course was equally good. I'm thoroughly satisfied with the food here, recommended to be by one of my friends. Prices do justify the taste and quantity. Service is quick. Parking is sufficient. Not to be missed if you are in Delhi.
