Customer Reviews & Testimonials
The Caesar salad was average, and the drink was mostly ice. Service was disappointing, especially in the outdoor seating area, where staff was rarely available. The ambiance could have been pleasant, but the music was too loud, making it difficult to have a conversation. Overall, the experience fell short of expectations.
Went to Sorrento for an Italian dinner with a lot of expectations. Was seated promptly. The ambience is nice with an open kitchen. We were served an amuse-bouche of smoked breads and tapenade ( Finely chopped olives in its own oil). The breads were well smoked and went very well with the delicious Tapenade. A good start to the meal. Ordered the Grappa Negroni and Calm you Down. Both were well mixed. Recommended. Ordered the truffle burrata on a bed of mushrooms. Fresh and tasty but would have been even better if the mushrooms were little pickled or paired with some sundried tomatoes. The arancini was tasty but have tasted better. The wild mushroom risotto was excellent and recommended. We ordered a pepperoni pizza but were disappointed after the risotto. Lacked flavour. All ingredients were fresh. The service was by and large good except that we had to request for water to be refilled and the billing took a while. Normally, as we had informed regarding a birthday in our group, a five star service would have ensured a small gesture. This was lacking. Maybe economics have caught up and only prices of dishes become exorbitant. Only a few Hotels go that extra mile. Anyway, all in all a good experience.
I have to say that I was really disappointed with my visit. My wife and I visited for dinner - the hotel were trying to build up trade due to the visit of Chef Renato Bosco. We decided to give it a go! We ordered off the chef's special menu. We were served some complimentary rosemary bread - which is served in a smoke-filled glass dome - I thought my wife was going to choke! Had Mozzarella Di Pane for starters - small dough balls with a small topping of delicate vegetables and sauces. The flavours were fantastic but it's all bread and very little substance. For mains we had cold pizza slices (not nice) and Pumpkin Risotto which was borderline cold and had very little substance or flavour. In my view the whole experience was pretentious and overpriced! Wished we had gone for the buffet upstairs! It may be that I don't appreciate fine dining - but this experience didn't do it for me. Service was great but everything else was disappointing. I've read other reviews and lots of people love Sorrento. Maybe I'll give it another go but order off the "normal" menu. By the way - I've been to Sorrento in Italy and never experienced food like this! Just saying.
Beautiful place with a nice ambience, very well mannered staff and great food . Portion sizes felt a bit small but the taste was exquisite. Vegetarian options are very limited but if you are a non- veg love they have a diverse menu .
This food was ridiculously good. I haven't had a calzone this big & full of flavour since around 1989 in Canada. Place is really clean & tastefully designed. Well worth the visit
Excellent all around. Surprisingly one of the best things was the complimentary foccacia bread. That was divine! One of the best bread I've had (sadly no photo). It came with this semi pureed olive, which is the perfect pairing. The pasta were all delicious. The tuna steak was just average. The portion is on the smaller side. We weren't too hungry, but wish that we had tried the pizza as well. Definitely a nice experience, and a good break from the local cuisine
Sorrento is one of the few Italian restaurants in Delhi's five star hotels. It's combined with Grappa bar at the ground floor. So can have fun of the bar with italian food. There's very nice outdoor seating with very good looking lawn, which is sadly of artificial grass. Seating inside is ok type. Food is ok and the prices are as of any other luxary hotel.
Good Ambience and good food. Be careful when you order drinks though because at one time the waiter served a 30 ml to my host and insisted that it was a 60 ml. The next time we ordered a 30 ml & it was exactly the same as the 60ml ordered previously. Didn't expect such a thing to happen...may have been a mistake but they should be careful.
