Customer Reviews & Testimonials
Dropped by The Bombil in Campal, Panjim, and the first thing that struck me was how packed the place was--a clear sign that it had earned its reputation among locals and visitors alike. Taking the staff's recommendation, I went with the Pomfret Thali, and I'm glad I did. The thali was generous and well-balanced, with the star being the perfectly cooked pomfret--crispy on the outside, moist and flaky within, and seasoned just right. The accompaniments played their part too, making it a satisfying Goan meal. To go with it, I ordered a bottle of Peoples Lager--light, refreshing, and ideal for the coastal heat--and followed it up with a glass of local Feni, because when in Goa, right? The meal ended on a high note with Bebinca and ice cream. Rich, layered, and beautifully indulgent, it was the perfect conclusion to a hearty seafood spread. The space was buzzing, and the service managed to stay friendly despite the rush. Prices were slightly on the higher side, but fair for the portion size and quality. Overall, a great pick for anyone looking to indulge in Goan coastal cuisine. Would definitely go back, maybe next time to try their namesake--Bombil (Bombay duck)!
Saw the great reviews of this restaurant and was excited to try it out! We had a 10min wait until a table was ready at 1:45pm, however that was fine. It is great that there are not too many tables. This means the service is very good! All the food was amazing and it is a must visit if you are in the area. Thank you for our lovely waitress and all kitchen staff.
This restaurant always has a spot in a tourist's to-go list and after dropping here for lunch, we got to know why. Jam packed with customers with waiting times as long as 45 minutes, foodies line up in dozens to get a taste of their expansive non vegetarian spread. We ordered the Veg Thali, Prawn Thali, Butter Garlic Squids and the Kokum Cooler and all of the preparations were delicious to say the least. The curry and dal were crammed with flavour while the simple looking beans held its own against other heavy weights in the thali. The Beetroot Pancake was the day's special and it was literally the cherry on top! We were also given choora papad and extra servings of brown rice in the middle of the meal. The prawns thali was sumptuous with the fried prawns being perfectly cooked. The Rava was not grainy at all and the dried prawns had a strong seafood flavour. The mussels (Tisriyo) were delicious and were licked off in an instant while the Buttered Squids, gracious in quantity, were gulped down after some considerable jaw exercise (they were a bit chewy, but the flavour - lipsmacking - do try the Battered ones though). We had a wonderful meal there and it was worth the wait. A flavourful meal with excellent and promt service. The vegetarian menu is limited but with the thali they offer, it will suffice for an empty stomach. We had live music for lunch as well!
If you're looking for the most authentic and amazing fish thali in Goa bombil is the best as their thali is packed with everything, right for macaroni soup to para , pickles dry fish, Goan dessert . The prawn curry is the best!!! staff is very polite and welcoming. We tried mojito which comes in different flavours, had the pineapple one which was made with fresh pineapple juice!!! Absolutely worth visiting this place- highly recommend for everyone visiting Goa. Each item was flavorful and cooked to perfection. I can say everything they serve they cook with passion!!! The best time to enter the restaurant is few mins before 12, or else u will hve to be in Q to get a table as it is always packed!!!
Was here for lunch because we had to try the place. There's always a waiting list and you have to wait for 20-30 minutes. When you enter, the restaurant ends. It's kind of congested and there's no AC. We had chonok fish thali which was quite average. I really think local restaurants serve better fish thali. The fish curry is below average. Also had kokum urrak which was a struggle and the rate for urrak was a rip off. The whole lunch scene was a struggle along with the humidity. The marketing team has done a pretty good job to hype up the place on the internet. I would definately not recommend my close ones to visit this place. There are much better places serving much better sea food at reasonable rates.
OMG! Just in love with the vibe of this restaurant. The food n drinks were amazing. N the service was fast n the waiters were so polite n helpful. There was waiting in the restaurant but the receptionist was so helpful n polite that we waited for a table n it was worth the wait. The atmosphere added more to the experience. I would definitely visit again if I ever happen to visit Goa.
An absolute favourite! Joeyo has created a place that everybody I know absolutely loves. It's such a regular whenever we are that side of town. The food is fantastic always - our staples are the thalis (do try the crab thali too!), fried prawns, mussels, pomfret. Ask to sample some of their great pickles as well. Try the jungle juice too and thank me later And finally the staff - they really make you feel at home (just a reflection of what Joe does). And before you leave, pick up some of their fabulous pickles (a fave is the Bombil Bomb).
This was my second visit. I noticed they've improved in all aspects. Interiors to the food quality, just loved it. I loved the prawns fry and they actually had a taste which I can't describe! The fish thali as usual was awesome. They offer a vegetable soup which is amazing. Chokon and King fish fry was just perfect. Not to forget their pickles.... Oh my god, one must visit them to taste those pickles along with the thaali. The presentation of the food is also nice. Loved it Verdict: A must must must try place.
