Thakkar's Hotel Jalaram Kathiyawadi

We ordered Papad Sabji, Kaju Planner, and Roti from Jalaram Kathiyawadi -- and honestly, the food was absolutely amazing! The Papad Sabji had an authentic Kathiyawadi flavor with perfectly balanced spices. The Kaju Planner was rich, creamy, and full of taste -- every bite felt royal. The rotis were soft and warm, complementing the sabji wonderfully.

I visited this hotel many times. You may have to wait during weekends because of the rush. It's famous for pure Kathiyawadi dishes along with a variety of pickles. On weekends, they offer self-service unlimited breakfast in the morning, where you can enjoy unlimited tea, coffee, idli, medu vada, sambhar, fafda, jalebi (funnel cake), methi gota (pakoras), potato fritters, sambharo, khaman, and more. A must-visit for food lovers!

We ordered Fafda, Idada, and Patis. Despite being the only customers at the time, our order took around 10 minutes to arrive. While the wait time may seem acceptable, it appeared that the delay was due to reheating the kadhi, and the fafda served was not fresh and hot as expected--it seemed to be from a pre-stocked batch. Additionally, they didn't have Patis available, which we were only informed about after placing the order. The staff was reluctant to refund the amount and instead insisted we choose something else. Ideally, item availability should be confirmed before taking the order. When we gave polite feedback about the fafda being cold, the staff insisted it was hot and denied the lack of fresh stock, even though we saw them take it from a stored box. Overall, the experience could have been better with more transparency and a customer-friendly approach.

Best Kathiyavadi restaurant i have ever visited. Awesome ambiance created by lighting, plantation and other decorations. Very nice sitting arrangement. Two type of sitting available, one is A/c hall and other one is in open area. Their speciality is in Kathiyavadi food but here you will also get Punjabi, Chinese, Rajasthani, Pizza, Sandwich, snacks items, sweet and cold beverages. Very polite and professional staff. Very quick and efficient service. Excellent level of Hygiene is maintained. Owner is also very customer friendly. It is undoubtedly a "Must visit place". We ate Bajra rotla, kaju gathiya,chhas and vanela gathiya. Must try churma ladoo. Located:- beside rander causeway

The food was really amazing and I ordered their cheese butter masala which was really amazing and then they had a wide variety of condiments like chutney, pickles, jaggery

Thakkar's Hotel Jalaram Kathiyawadi serves up tasty Kathiyawadi and Gujarati food that hits the spot, even if it's not mind-blowing . The service shines , with attentive and helpful staff. The nature-inspired setting is nice enough, making it a solid choice for a satisfying vegetarian meal in Surat, especially when good service matters.

We visited this place today for a New Year's lunch and tried a variety of items from the menu. We ordered rigan nu bhartu with bharja no rotlo, rajwadi dhokli, lasanya lili tuvar nu shak, and chaas. We also tried the mango lassi, which tasted like aamras, and added masala papad to the order. To finish, we had masala khichdi with kadhi. We requested refills of the cabbage sambharo and achar, and they were provided. When we asked for marcha, they served us fried chilies. Highly recommended--the taste was great! Just keep in mind there's usually a 15-30 minute wait.

Good quality of food. Taste is also good. Staff is also helpful and kind, supportive,too. Atmosphere is also good. Overall great experience. I'm advice you to add the restaurant to your bucket list, specially if u are like to eat kathiyawadi food.
