Customer Reviews & Testimonials

I recently visited Kashmir Trout, Near Chati Patshahi, and tried both their Whole Grilled Trout (Spicy) and Fish & Chips. The Whole Grilled Trout came with a side of exotic sauteed vegetables and mashed potatoes, making it a complete meal that can easily serve two people. While the dish was good, the trout itself tasted a bit bland and could have used more salt to bring out its flavor. The Fish & Chips, however, was the standout. It came with two big fillets of trout, which were both appetizing and filling--definitely enough for one person. The fish had a perfectly crunchy texture on the outside, while staying juicy on the inside, and it was seasoned just right. The dish was accompanied by crispy French fries and a delicious handmade mayonnaise that tied everything together. If you're visiting, I recommend going for the Fish & Chips for a more flavorful and satisfying experience.

Love love love this place. I'm not exactly a seafood lover but the trout they serve is exquisite! The fish is perfectly cooked and not raw like I've seen in couple of cafes here in Srinagar. Food is really delicious. Service is also pretty good. Very polite staff. Ambience really good. Great place for a get-together with family/friends.

One of the best places to enjoy grilled trout. Perfect for family and friends/groups. Situated on the top floor, it gives a nice view of the fort up on a hill and also a Gurudwara on the other side. A cable car service is just next door to this premise. There are a few seating choices available here. Table seated or floor seating, up to you. There's also a few tables for outdoor seating. Reminder: orders take time to be prepared, do expect some delay and/or orders that were forgotten. Service is a bit slow, perhaps due to Ramzan. Sadly, pizza was not available at the time of visit. The ambiance is so soothing with the right kind of lights and decorations. The food was indeed delicious and worth the visit. There's also Indian food in the menu, not just trout. The only concern from my end was the hand washing area and toilets. A beautiful restaurant such as this can do better to improve the cleanliness and necessary items such as hand soap and tissues are readily available for patrons.

New to the city, just tried randomly. The signature trout fish dish was awesome. Ordered chicken fried rice as well that wasn't good though. Service is very prompt and welcoming. The only thing is new people will find it lil difficult to enter the location. The price point of view is decent. Recommended.

A suggestion, if you are visiting the restaurant then plan one fish dish at a time. If you order more than one dish then you will not enjoy the taste. I personally loved Grilled Trout which was fresh and perfectly marinated. The fried Trout was smaller in size. The best was the tandoori Trout. Rara mutton was cooked using lamb meat and had distinctive taste. We also had sweet n sour lemon drinks which again were great. The whole experience cost us around 3300 Indian National Rupees for 3 adults and 3 children. Being Saturday afternoon, not many people were present, which shows that the place is a bit expensive. Do visit and let us know what you think....

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kashmir Trout, and as an avid fish enthusiast, it was truly an unforgettable experience. This restaurant exceeded my expectations in every aspect, from the delectable flavors to the impeccable service. First and foremost, the highlight of my visit was the tandoori grilled trout fish. Freshness is the key at Kashmir Trout, as they prepare the fish right before your eyes. The moment I took my first bite, I was immediately captivated by the burst of flavors. The tender, succulent flesh infused with the aromatic blend of spices left my taste buds in a state of sheer bliss. The flavors truly showcased the natural essence of the fish, making it a must-try for any seafood aficionado.

Nestled in a charming corner of the city, Kashmir Trout offers an authentic taste of the flavors from the Kashmir Valley, with a particular focus on its namesake fish. The restaurant's warm, rustic ambiance, complete with Kashmiri-inspired decor, creates an inviting atmosphere perfect for a cozy meal. Prices are moderate , the quality of ingredients and authenticity of the dishes justify the cost. Kashmir Trout stands out as a must-visit for those craving an exceptional, unique dining experience that brings the flavors of Kashmir to your plate. Highly recommended!

A trout fish costs almost 700rs at your restaurant, so don't you think you guys should provide some better dips to eat with that fish. But you guys provide low quality taste mayonnaise, I mean there should be other dips too. The fish tastes good but I don't think I'd ever wanna have that useless mayonnaise with fish. You guys should take the initiative to give better dips with fish. I've spent almost 3k on orders from your place, make it better ASAP.
