Bandipura Tiger Reserve Forest Department Guest House

Visiting Bandipur Tiger Reserve was an adventure to remember. The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly the sightings of a tiger and an elephant in their natural habitat, which was a thrilling experience. The guide was knowledgeable and engaging, adding great value to our safari. However, the waiting lounge did not live up to our expectations and could benefit from some attention and upgrades. Considering the price paid, we expected a bit more in terms of facilities and comfort. Nonetheless, the wildlife encounter was spectacular, and that alone makes Bandipur worth visiting.

I have stayed in the Government cottage here in the forest. If you travel through this forest in the morning and in the evening, you can see a lot of animals. We mostly saw deer. And here people are taken on a wind safari. When we went, we only saw elephants and some rare birds. And if you are lucky, you can see many wild animals.

The location is great with access to wildlife, but the state of the guest house is so poor that you will feel you have entered a chowl. The washrooms are dingy and has major leakages, hygiene so poor that there were urine marks on the commode which were not cleaned even after multiple requests. The guesthouse is in shambles and not fit for human stay. Sad state of affairs being a government run guesthouse. It lives up to the expectation of being mismanaged, filthy and horrible stay experience.

Weekend drive is always crowded. Driving slow in Bandipur forest you get to see wild animals at a very shot distance. Stay calm and drive slow.

It all began with the first rays of dawn dappling through the dense foliage, painting the forest floor in a mosaic of light and shadow. As I boarded the open jeep, anticipation crackled in the air, a tangible electricity thrumming through the group. Our guide, a weathered man with eyes that held the secrets of the wild, spoke in hushed tones, urging us to surrender to the symphony of the jungle.

The stay was decent without any luxury amenities.. Animal sighting in the campus was awesome.. Food in the canteen was good.
