We saw the Google ratings and went mainly for the nati items around 3 pm. Unfortunately by then those items were all over and we ordered non veg thali which was Different in the sense that there was biriyani, ghee rice and white rice with chicken items but no vegetables or even dahi or papad. Portion size for the other ordered items was small also and the taste did not live up to our expectation.

Our experience at Maharaja Restaurant had its ups and downs. Be prepared for a wait -- it took nearly 45 minutes to get a seat, and by then, the chicken biryani was already sold out. We opted for the Hyderabadi Biryani Family Pack instead, but honestly, it was disappointing. The biryani was very dry, lacked proper masala, and didn't have the authentic Hyderabadi taste. For any true biryani lover, this one misses the mark -- 2/5 Pahadi Kebab - 4/5 The Pahadi Kebab, however, was delicious! Tender and flavorful, it practically melts in your mouth. Sweet Lassi - 10/10 The real highlight here is the Sweet Lassi! It's absolutely amazing, and worth coming back just for that. We loved it so much we ended up ordering four of them. Buttermilk - 5/5 Another standout item! Refreshing and perfect for quenching thirst -- the ideal drink to balance the meal. Our total bill was around 800-1200/-, and we were informed that the wait time for biryani alone could be another 45 minutes. In total, expect to spend roughly 90 minutes waiting, so only go if you have the time to spare. Otherwise, grab a sweet lassi to go -- it's truly the star of the menu!

A decent Non Vegetarian Restaurant in the heart of Chikmagalur Town. We ordered Mutton Biryani, Wheat Parathas, Mutton Kheema Parathas, Chilli Prawns, Butter Garlic Chicken and Jaljeera. The portions were good and the taste was quite nice. The service was very quick too.

Average taste. Biriyani was very bad . We took roti and chetinad chicken gravy that was okay okay. I don't recommend biriyani here. We had told corn soup but they heard chicken and corn soup so gave us chicken and corn soup. Soup was good.

You've probably already seen this place recommended all over the internet--and honestly, it lives up to the hype. They serve tasty food in generous portions, and if you're unsure where to eat, you can safely go with this one. Most dishes won't disappoint. If you missed eating here then no worries their is nothing that you are going to miss as you can get those items and taste every where in india. Just a small heads-up: I'd personally avoid the Chicken Pepper Fry. It wasn't cooked well. What to try: - Starters: Reshmi Kabab is a must-try! Also recommend the Tandoori Chicken. - Breads: Go for Kulcha and Tandoori Roti. - Rice: Kaju Rice is a must--ask them to fry the cashews for extra flavor. - I also tried their biryani since it's highly recommended, but I didn't enjoy it much. Maybe it's because I'm used to the Hyderabadi taste. If you're curious, it's still worth trying once.

Was here at this restaurant with family seeing some off the good reviews but seriously was not happy with the service , food or atmosphere. Banana leaves served first but no normal water to clean the leaf had to ask waiter 3 times for the same. Without cleaning the leaf the food comes first. . Asked for one coke and one sprite we get TWO opend coke told the waiter now since opened up let it be here we will use it but u get one more sprite . So seriously not happy and food was just average. Needs a lot of improvement as yet. Very expensive too.

Appetizing Biryani light food which triggers taste buds. Highly recommended for biryani lovers, and everything is good in menu. Good place to enjoy food with family

This restaurant was referred to us by one of the local spice shops. We went there to have a quick lunch. Since there are many Maharaja hotels finding this one was bit difficult. Ambience of the hotel is average in the day time.. it must be looking good in the night with all the lights. Service was super fast and I really appreciate the steward for being courteous. Food came in ample quantity and 1 Biriyani can be easily shared by 2. Food was served hot. Biriyani here is yummy and comes with the right amount of spices. Overall it is a good place to have family lunch or dinner. Desserts were limited to ice creams. They do have a separate fresh juice counter.
