Delicious food! Everything was good expect the buttermilk but that's okay. They also serve Andhra thali but individually the gravies were really tasty

Best place to have lunch or dinner. Their malnad style biriyani is awesome. Prices are at par with quantity and quality they provide. No nonsense place and service is quick. They have terrace seating as well. Ample parking is available beside the restaurant.

The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. We had fish meals and mutton biryani--the biryani was good, and the meals were superb. They also have a spacious parking area.If you're a tourist, this is definitely a great place to dine.

I had lunch here with my family and it was a good experience. Veg meals were good and the portion size is generous. The pricing for the food is reasonable for the quality of food served. Service is great here.

This is not defamation--only a factual, firsthand account of an extremely unhygienic and disturbing experience at Tinton Restaurant, Chikmagalur. During a recent trip with my cousins, we visited Tinton for dinner. Just as we were finishing our meal, we saw a huge rat freely roaming inside the restaurant. The sight was shocking, disgusting, and made us feel sick. We immediately stopped eating and left the remaining food on the table. We brought the issue to the attention of the staff and stated that we would not be paying the full amount, as the hygiene standards were far below acceptable. It was not about money, but about principle, public health, and legal responsibility. However, the owner rudely dismissed our concerns and forced us to pay in full. As a practicing lawyer, I am aware that this is a clear violation of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. Under Section 26(2)(ii), it is the duty of a food business operator to ensure that food served is safe and the premises are sanitary. Further, the FSS (Licensing and Registration of Food Businesses) Regulations, 2011, specifically Rule 4, mandates that food establishments must have effective pest control and maintain clean, rodent-free premises. Tinton's failure to do so is a serious breach of these obligations. What made the situation even more horrifying was that the staff beat the rat to death with a stick in full view of diners. The act itself was traumatic and unsanitary, compounding our discomfort. I have photo and video evidence of the rat inside the restaurant. This review is not to malign, but to urge the restaurant and the authorities to take such hygiene violations seriously before they result in serious public health consequences. Cleanliness is not optional in the food industry. I sincerely hope the local food safety officers and municipal authorities investigate this matter, and the restaurant takes immediate corrective action.
