Customer Reviews & Testimonials
Heard lot about this khanavali so we went for dining. Food waa okay but felt it like the price is too much. 2roti 3 types of baji. When serving the bajii, The service guy was thinking should i keep it or not like. Another guy was in his world only, he came and sat infront of us, it was like uncomfortable to chat. They gave wheat sweet which is called as Godi- Huggi that was good and they add gee infront of you only. When it comes to rice sambaar it was good, felt like hom food only when we asked for papad they said no. Overall I felt it was little expensive for person.
Shree Basaveshwara Khanavali offers an authentic North Karnataka dining experience. The Jolada Rotti meals are a standout, featuring soft jowar rotis paired with flavorful curries, chutneys, and traditional sweets. The ambiance is simple yet inviting, reflecting the essence of a true khanavali. The staff is courteous, and the service is prompt, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. For those seeking genuine regional flavors, this establishment is a must-visit. And remember it's coupon based system but not an a self service.
Ideal food court for traditional North Karnataka style. You will not miss authentic home food. Service is also good. Spacious one. In 120 you will get 2 jawar rotis or chapatis, and one sweet in option. Along with that jhunka vada what, Basaweshwar Khanavali is known for, 3 different varieties of bhajis, unlimited rice and sambar. There is lack of parking facility. They don't have separate washrooms for men and women....
First time I am giving a 5 star rating for any restaurant. We went for lunch today and it was just mind blowing. Well made Jolada roti, holige, curries and salads were extremely tasty. Also the way we were served deserves a special mention. We felt as if we were guests in a wedding event. Please keep it up
Excellent service. Very tasty food Good options. Very reasonable pricing. Recommended for traditional vegetarian north karnataka food
It's good (Kanavali) Hotel for north karnataka food. You will get hot chapati and hot North karnataka jower rotis. Every day there will be sweet called Holige. Cost of the thali is just 100 rs, you will get 2 types of gravy, 2 roti or chapati, 1 cup Curd. Sides, salad (onion, cucumber peices mixed in curd), Unlimited Rice. Anything you need extra can be asked get it. All together food was very tasty. I have visited many a times here. Every time it was a good food here. Have not faced any food related issues here aprt from one or two times curd was not so great as it used to be. Just one more thing owner has to take care of little cleanliness in the wash basin and wash room area. It has to be maintained little more cleaner. Other parts of the place is really clean and tidy. May be the few people who use washroom and wash basin area makes it little dirty, while washing their hands, as water spills on ground. Even the staff and serving staffs also should concentrate towards cleanliness. Overall it's a nice place that have North karnataka style lunch and dinner.
Every alternate days they will prepare brinjal poriyal (ennegayi). Taste and service both were good.
Good restaurant for north karnataka food near Dharwad bus stand. The food was tasty. Variety of Holige is available.
