Customer Reviews & Testimonials
Late Night Cravings in the Rain After finishing a late-night movie around 12:15 AM, we found ourselves searching for a place to eat -- not an easy task in Mangalore at that hour. Most restaurants had already closed, but we were fortunate to come across this spot, which remains open till 1 AM. It was raining heavily. .............................................................................................................. The restaurant serves Chinese cuisine. While the food was decent, it didn't quite match the expectations set by the pricing. ............................................................................................................ Ambience, on the other hand, was a highlight. With both AC and non-AC seating available, we chose the non ac section -- and it didn't disappoint. Sitting there with the rain falling, a light breeze in the air felt genuinely calming, it added a quiet charm to the whole experience. ............................................................................................................ However, the service could use some work. The staff interaction felt impersonal, and there was a lack of warmth that would have otherwise made the visit more inviting. It's a decent option if you're out late and short on choices, but during regular hours, I'd likely look elsewhere. Namaskar TEJANSHU
I had a very disappointing experience at Ginger. The service was extremely poor -- the staff seemed disorganized and inattentive. The biggest issue was with their pricing. The prices on the menu didn't match the final bill, and to make matters worse, every menu had different prices for the same items. On top of that, they charged an extra 10 per item just for dining in the AC room -- something they never informed us about beforehand. When we brought all this to their attention, the staff didn't handle the situation well. Overall, it was a frustrating experience. I wouldn't recommend this place until they fix their service, pricing, and billing practices.
It was almost midnight when we reached Mangalore. While searching for restaurant this suggestion popped up and the time was Open till 1 AM. We were not sure but still tried our luck And we were surprised to see the restaurant was operational.
I visit this place around 3 times a week. The food is good, and the waiters are respectful but the bald guy at the billing counter has zero manners. No smile, no courtesy, just a constant gumma face like he's annoyed by customers. Today was the worst. After I paid and walked to my vehicle, he called me back not with words, but with a sound, like calling a dog. Then he accused me of not paying. I showed my payment success message, but instead of checking it properly, he rudely said to the waiter, See... correct it and send, like I'm some uneducated person trying to cheat them. I didn't wait around I told the waiter to take a photo of my receipt and left. I don't know how others tolerate this, but for me, respect matters. And with this kind of treatment, I'm not referring any of my friends here either. Good food isn't enough if you can't treat your regulars with basic dignity.
Good serviece good food good ambience good parking facilities
We recently dined at Ginger House and had an interesting mix of experiences. We ordered a variety of dishes for supper, starting with the Veg Biryani, which was a unique twist on the traditional dish. Instead of chicken, it featured cauliflower masala. The rice in the biryani was well-cooked and flavorful, making for an enjoyable meal. We also tried the Chicken Tikka Biryani, which was flavorful and well-prepared, with a delicious masala that stood out. However, we felt that the portion size was somewhat smaller than expected, leaving us wanting a bit more. For starters, we had the Mutton Clear Soup, which unfortunately did not meet our expectations. It was overly diluted, with a consistency more akin to water than a hearty soup. This made the soup feel insubstantial and lacking in the rich, savory flavor one typically hopes for. To end our meal, we chose the Chocolate Sundae. While this may be a personal preference, the dessert didn't impress us. It was average at best, and I suspect this might be due to my personal dislike of chocolate rather than any fault with the dessert itself. Overall, Ginger House provided a decent dining experience with its unique take on biryani and good-quality dishes. However, the extended delivery time and some inconsistencies in dish quality, especially with the soup and dessert, were notable drawbacks. If you're in the mood for a distinctive biryani experience, it's worth a visit, but be prepared for a potentially long wait and some unevenness in the overall experience.
Restaurant with good food, nice ambience and average service. We started off with the chicken clear soup, which was a huge disappointment. The soup was bland. After the disappointing start, the waiter brought our starter, which was the chicken malai kabab. The malai kabab was excellent. Next we had the chicken tikka biryani, which again was superb. All in all the food was excellent. Price is very reasonable. The service was average, as it was very slow and the waiter forgot our starter. The ambience is nice. Ample parking space is available. Good place to have lunch with family.
Ordered two biriyani.... One half and full.... Was not worth.... The amount paid for that could have went somewhere and had better food that's what I felt. Rice is dry and the chicken pieces are over cooked..... They way it's mixed both rice and chicken not mixed properly....
