Customer Reviews & Testimonials
I recently dined at [Restaurant Name], and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a modern yet cozy feel. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The food was absolutely delicious--each dish was expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. I especially loved the [specific dish], which was a perfect combination of textures and tastes. The wine selection complemented the meal perfectly, and the dessert was the ideal end to a memorable dining experience. I can't wait to return and highly recommend [Restaurant Name] to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience!
Stepping into Saivaram Restaurant in Shivamogga feels like a warm embrace of tradition. The aroma of spices hangs gently in the air, promising a comforting and flavorful dining experience. This isn't a place chasing fleeting trends; instead, it exudes a quiet confidence in serving consistently good South Indian vegetarian fare. During my recent visit, I started with the classic Masala Dosa. The dosa itself was perfectly crisp, with a lovely golden-brown hue. The potato filling was hearty and well-spiced, avoiding the overly bland or overwhelmingly hot pitfalls that some places succumb to. Served with a generous portion of sambar and an array of chutneys - coconut, tomato, and mint - each bite offered a delightful interplay of textures and tastes. The sambar, in particular, was flavorful and rich, clearly made with fresh vegetables and a balanced blend of lentils and spices. Next, I sampled their Vada. These lentil fritters were wonderfully light and airy on the inside, with a satisfyingly crunchy exterior. They weren't greasy at all, which is always a welcome sign. Dipped in the sambar, they soaked up the flavors beautifully. For the main course, I opted for the South Indian Thali. This was a delightful showcase of the restaurant's offerings. It included a variety of curries, rice, roti, a sweet dish, and curd. Each component was well-prepared and flavorful. The vegetable curries were distinct, with fresh ingredients shining through. The rasam was tangy and comforting, and the sambar served with the thali had its own unique character, different from the one served with the dosa, highlighting the kitchen's attention to detail. The sweet dish, Kesari Bhat, was perfectly sweet and aromatic, providing a lovely end to the savory portion of the meal. The service at Saivaram was efficient and courteous. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. While the ambiance might be simple and unpretentious, it's clear that the focus here is squarely on the quality of the food. In conclusion, Saivaram Restaurant offers a reliable and satisfying experience for anyone craving authentic South Indian vegetarian cuisine in Shivamogga. It's a place where you can expect consistently good food, prepared with care and served with warmth. While it might not be the flashiest spot in town, its dedication to traditional flavors and quality ingredients makes it a definite must-try. If you're looking for a genuine taste of South India, Saivaram won't disappoint. My rating: 5 out of 5 stars.
Very tasteful. I tasted their food through Swiggy and liked it. So went to visit the resturant. On the ground floor , just 2-3 tables and self service. Of course, the dishes were tasteful . Thatte idly is highlight! Looks like they've a secret place in-dine on first floor ! There's no board and they didn't even bother to tell. While coming back I observed, they have seating on the first floor !
Highly recommended for breakfast & lunch (andhra meals )
I had ordered Andhra meals and South Indian mini meals. Andhra meals was average, Rice was under cooked. Methi Chapathi snd Bhendi chutney was decent. The service was pathetic, only one male server was providing better service, they even had other 2 female servers/Manager, they were horrible. One of the female server served me rice and then vanished without serving pappu & ghee. I almost waited for 15 mins for pappu, she was just roaming around. Then after questioning she carelessly said someone else was supposed to serve. They lacked co-ordination. Actually they lacked the complete process. Papad was soggy, the service was very late. Around 15+ customer were asked to wait as the food was over at peak time 2:30 PM. They even waited for 15-20 mins only to know that it would take even more time. Then they left for other restaurants. The service area shakes when anyone walks on the floor, one seated can actually feel the vibration. Overall a pathetic experience. I won't recommend this restaurant, don't choose this even if it's the last option.
Food is average. Not so special as it is portrayed. I feel the owners need to focus on food instead of marketing it. I visited twice to try different items but felt it didn't meet any expectations as per the reviews below. Ghee masala dosa priced at 80 Rs. Is decent and can be called as Ghee paper Dosa instead. Idli Vada was awful. Onion dosa can be rated as 2.5 out of 5. Self serve at ground floor and serve in facility available at first floor.
Enjoyed the ambiance. Saivaram is on the main road and very easily accessible. Excellent food, very tasty and also reasonable. We had open dosa with chutney pudi, masala dosa and thatte idli sprinkled with ghee and chutney pudi. It was just awesome. Thank you. They provide good filter water. The hotel is very well maintained, clean and hygienic. Thank you Ashwin and Ajith for your personal attention. Enjoyed interacting with these managers. They organise birthday parties, gatherings and meetings over breakfast, lunch or dinner also....with a short notice ofcourse.
The menu offers a variety of dishes, including dosas, idlis, and vadas, all prepared fresh and served hot. The ambiance is simple and clean, providing a comfortable dining experience. While the food quality is commendable, parking can be a challenge during peak hours.
