Salikante Chaya Kada (Hotel Al Amal)

When a tea shop opens at 5:30 am and is already buzzing with locals, it's a clear sign that it's something special. Almost everyone I met in Alappuzha recommended Salika's tea shop, so I decided to check it out. I just stepped in, got myself a steaming hot bonda and a glass of tea. The whole place was buzzing like a beehive -- full of people and full of energy. The atmosphere was incredible. Since I was on my way to another spot for breakfast, I didn't eat much here, but I'll definitely be back for more soon.

A small gem in Alappuzha tries out their chicken biriyani. The biriyani was flavourful and they also provided unlimited rice but the hotel was crowded when we were dining in but yeah the food here is a must try.

Want to try some local dishes? Why not this?! The parotta, chicken fry and the gravy that they give is one of the best at this price. Do try this place atleast once.

If you're in Alapuzha, don't miss out on this small gem of a restaurant. Their biryani is a must-try, offering a unique and delicious twist compared to others. The restaurant provides decent spacing for a comfortable dining experience, and the rates are quite reasonable.

We had porotta, puttu and mutton chaps. Hot steaming porottas and puttu. The mutton was cooked to perfection. The pieces they served us were so soft and succulent we could even chew the bones. The milk in the tea and coffee served was also not watered down. Will definitely go back for their biriyani in the afternoon next time I go through Allapuzha.

The food is of traditional style. Tastes good. But their service is yet to be improved. No coordination between themselves. I ordered the much awaited "Bonda" and even if I waited and ordered long before they served it to others who came after me. But I'm happy with their food. And FYI what they name Bonda is none other than Savala Vada (Onion Vada). And the sad part is without kNowing this, I went almost 7 times and came back empty handed. Which means its a best selling item over there. Its tasty too. I ordered egg roast also this time. Once I took parcel from them porotta and beef. And it was also good. They have a limited space and provide good food. Hence a rush is seen almost the normal food time

The taste comes with traditional way of making. One of the leading taste makers of Alleppey town . Established really long ago. Many of the dishes are really famous. Combinations of veriety dishes are the highlight here . Plus the taste can't compare with anywhere else . I used have two porrotta with mutton chaps . I have a sensitive Tommy but i go well with this for breakfast lol. All the non veg dishes are simply amazing. Biriyanis are another level . I don't like to sit near the washing area just because of this restaurant have usual guys come for tea and conversations , like father age old school guys . They make noise there . But just behind the counter much more space . For. Family and friends it's a really great place for food . Again you can't beat the authentic taste from here . Enjoy

THE BEST BEEF AND BANANA FRY It's located around 1.5 km from railway station and 4-5 kilometres from KSRTC bus stand this is the best place to eat in Alleppey. The place is locally known as 'sadikkante chayakada' (Meaning Sadik brother's teashop) is around 40-50 years old and it's a hit among the locals. The place is located in the market area and they start business from early hours. Pathiri (rice flour pancakes) and the beef is one of the best combination here. Must try is the banana fry with the beef curry, also the mutton and parotta. The food is really good and the staffs are polite and warm. The tea here is really good and I ended up having 2 at once. The shop is a small place with basic seating arrangements and wash. You might as well feel you walked in to a shop which is from another time period. The food has no compromise here though, it tastes just right. Cost for two as of Oct 2021 for a nonveg breakfast or dinner is 300-400. I must add, it's such amazing people there.
