Uduppi Saravana Bhavan We had breakfast at Uduppi Saravana Bhavan when we were at Alappuzha recently. I tasted Idly, vada, Pongal and we had ordered Family Dosa for 6 of us. Idly was good, Sambar was excellent, Chutney was mild. Family dosa was Huge, Potato filling/Palya tasted very good with sambar.

A decent vegetarian restaurant. Masala dosa was good. Very good service. Ample parking space which can accommodate even bigger vehicles. However there's not enough tables inside. You might not get a table for yourself.

I recently dined at Udupi Saravana Bhavan for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious, well-prepared, and of excellent quality. The air-conditioned dining area was comfortable, and there was ample parking available in front of the restaurant, making it convenient for families and groups.

The prices here are reasonable, and the food quality is excellent and delicious. Being from Tamil Nadu, we found the sambar to be just good, not exceptionally flavorful. We ordered ice cream and the Udupi special dosa, which was a unique and tasty combination with fruits, paneer, coconut granules, masala, grapes, and cheese. The ghee roast and poori were also delicious. The spice level was mild, which we appreciated. We had to wait around 10 minutes for the food to be served hot, and even the poori was freshly made, not pre-cooked, which was a big plus. Overall, it was a pleasant and satisfying dining experience.

Good place to enjoy traditional South Indian cusines. Avoid North Indian and Chinese dishes as you won't find this as expected.

Worse common toilet which is outside the main building. Fresh lime with sugar was charged 35. Just asked what's so special about their fresh lime juice. All that they could tell me was that was served inside the restaurant. One lemon will cost 5, sugar will cost maximum 5 and the water will not cost more than 5 even if they use bottled water. Total cost would be 15. The balance 20 is charged for sitting inside their restaurant? Just can't digest that. When I had that conversation with their billing counter staff and the supervisor, one of their waiters interrupted. I had to stop him for his bad manner. Other customers joined me with some food related complaints too. All in all, not a recommended place.

It's a great meal compared to other veg restaurants that are in the same category. Foods great in terms of quality, quantity and taste.. Ambience is so so... The staff there are courteous and helpful.. They are very helpful in talking the order and confusing the order if you change your requirement in between. So you end up eating more or parceling home food at times... Orders get placed, people keep coming and this place keeps buzzing... you will also end up waiting during certain days... Just enjoy and keep going...

I regret to share that my recent dining experience fell short of expectations. The service was unfortunately subpar, leaving me feeling disappointed. While the food was satisfactory, the lack of attentiveness from the staff significantly impacted the overall experience. I hope this feedback can be used to improve future service for other diners. I believe in providing constructive criticism, and I hope these concerns will be addressed.
