Charcoal Shack Restaurant, Angamaly

I had a Jamaican beef mandi, but the food was just average. The rice was of low quality, and the beef was a bit hard. However, the service and ambiance were very nice. Karthik bro handled everything well. Parking is limited. I also ordered a mint lime, but it was really bad--wouldn't recommend it.

Edit 2025 : I extremely like the beef dry fry and also the chicken pulao. The way the waiter constantly asked if I do need anything else or the food is Okay. I am turning this 4 star to 5 star. Totally deserved this!!! I come here for the smoked honey Al Fahm Mandi, and it never disappoints--so good! The service is great, with friendly staff and a nice, clean area. Parking can be a bit tight, but there are nearby spots available. Overall, it's a lovely, ambient place to dine.

Food and service used to be really good before. Now is like 6/10 . Alfam chickens are over cocked and very dry inside . Rice is good.

Fantastic discovery in my hometown! I stumbled upon an amazing spot for authentic Arabic cuisine that's become a must-visit for my family and me. Can't wait to try more dishes! Highly recommended!

Cooperative staffs and great ambiance with parking slots. Food is average

The owner of the Charcoal restaurant chain must have visited the Angamaly branch today because he must have snatched half a portion of chicken from customers' plates. Otherwise, there is no other way to get half of a regular quarter piece when you order a quarter alfam manthi. Anyway, I left some rice on my plate so he could eat some rice too.

Replaces erstwhile '100 Rifles' here. Like its predecessor, this one is a good dining spot as well. Food is good and pricing is pocket friendly. I tried Jamaican crunchy shawarma and Passion fruit tea. Both were pretty good. Would recommend this place to anyone trying this route. Food is good. Interior ambience is good and not very crowded as well. Definitely worth a try for a quiet dinner.

Disappointing experience at Charcoal Shack Restaurant, Mekkad, Kariyad. Despite claiming to serve multiple cuisines, including North Indian, Chinese, and Arabic, our visit on May 12, 2025, fell short of expectations. The ambiance was just ordinary and passable, with hardly any customers inside. The service was lackluster, starting with a table boy mistaking our arrival for a restroom visit. The menu was unimpressive, and the staff seemed untrained in hospitality and much to my surprise, disgraceful and discourteous. We ordered a single item from the limited options, but the staff's behavior was totally unwelcome, leading us to leave the place without even tasting any food. The hype surrounding this outlet doesn't match the reality. Unfortunately, I'd rate this place 1/5 stars. I shall never again visit this place as well as recommend this Hotel to friends and family.
