Salkkaar Restaurant

We tried this restaurant during our visit to Little Flower Hospital and Research Centre in Angamaly, as it's located conveniently nearby. We ordered porotta and beef fry--the porotta was average, while the beef fry had a tomato sauce-like flavor, which deviated from the traditional taste. Overall, the food was just slightly above average. We ended the meal with tea, which was quite refreshing. The pricing felt a bit high given the overall ambiance. There's a non-A/C dining area on the ground floor and an A/C section upstairs, which had decent seating and arrangement. Parking is limited, with space for 2-3 cars and a few bikes.

The place serves a good biriyani. Rice and masala are present in a balanced amount and chicken was also well-cooked. They have both AC and non AC seating sections.

Went there for lunch with family and we had ordered chicken biriyani chappathi and chilli gobi all items were below average tastes, also i had a tea from there i must say it was fabulous price was also reasonable, and they have only limited parking space

This place is just along the main road. Good visibility. Had fish , beef and chicken. Food was great and flavorful. Ambience is ok. Two stars deducted for poor hygiene of wiped plates. The fresh plates stank of old socks . Had to return the plates twice and specifically instruct them to not dry wipe the plates with dirty cloth after washing with soap. The waiter was polite and later understood. Would still recommend this place as the food was excellent.

Very tasty food. Neat and Clean. Good Ambience. But crowded and less place. Ordered chicken biriyani through swiggy top notch.

One notable advantage of Aalkar is the convenience of various payment options, including card swiping, making it accessible to all customers. The availability of take-away and home delivery services is a significant plus, ensuring that patrons can enjoy their favorite dishes wherever they please. The cost of products is reasonable when considering the quality provided. However, there are a few downsides to be aware of. The parking area for vehicles is not sufficient, which can be inconvenient during peak dining hours. The dining area, while generally comfortable, tends to get crowded, which can affect the overall peaceful ambiance. The wash area's cleanliness is average, and there is room for improvement in this regard. The toilet facility, located just outside the restaurant, is also only average in terms of cleanliness and may be used only when necessary. In conclusion, Aalkar Restaurant in Angamaly offers a delightful dining experience with its friendly staff, premium food quality, and a wide variety of options. While it could benefit from improving parking and cleanliness in some areas, the overall experience and value for money make it a worthwhile visit. Must try dish- Salkar Special Dum biriyani

Tried their Chicken Dum Biryani and it was good. The quantity was great. I won't say it's the best but it's worth giving a try. It is priced at 170. They've also got a normal chicken biryani at Rs.160.

I had a bad experience on 17th April after ordering 1.5 kg of Neychoru from the Angamaly outlet. Instead of Neychoru, they packed biriyani rice -- and to make it worse, the rice was rotten. We opened the parcel after two hours and couldn't even eat a spoonful because it had gone bad. When I placed the order, they mentioned that about 2 kg of rice was left and asked if I wanted all of it. Thankfully, I only ordered 1.5 kg, along with one portion of Chilly Chicken and one portion of Chicken Kondattam. Since the next day was Good Friday, I couldn't contact them immediately. I called on Saturday, and they asked whether the parcel had been opened earlier. When I said no, they blamed the issue on that -- saying that it should have been kept open while hot. Honestly, it felt like they were just trying to avoid responsibility instead of acknowledging the problem. I've ordered takeout from many hotels and never faced such an issue. I used to be a regular customer at their Angamaly outlet and their co-brand, Kiriyanthans. Really disappointed with how they handled the situation. It's disappointing to see how their service has worsened over time. After this experience, I can no longer recommend them to others.
