The Smoky Shack

We visited The Smoky Shack Cafe in Chengannur and tried their Alfahm, mojitos, along with kuboos and romali roti. The portion size, especially the chicken breast piece, was quite good. However, the chicken was slightly over-smoked, which affected the overall flavor. The mojitos were average--not very refreshing. The cafe offers both indoor and outdoor seating. While the outdoor setup is a nice option, the indoor space is quite limited. Additionally, there was only one wash basin available for handwashing, and it wasn't well-maintained. Overall, it's a decent spot to try once, but there's room for improvement in both taste and facilities.

Visited The Smoky Shack recently. Personally, I found the Al Faham a bit too dry and not as flavorful as expected. The BBQ was also just average. However, I really liked the Passionfruit Mojito -- it was refreshing and well-prepared. One thing I truly appreciated was the staff's effort in serving the food quickly, as we were in a bit of a hurry. That level of responsiveness was thoughtful and helpful. The restaurant could use some improvement in terms of cleanliness and overall upkeep. With a bit more attention to food quality and hygiene, this place could be much better.

We as a family were travelling to Kerala and we had landed in the afternoon after a long, long journey and after that we have been going around places visiting them. Since, it was late and we were still to reach our resort and the possibility of getting food there was negligible, we stopped by this place on the way and were pleasantly surprised. We ordered Grill Chicken Al Faham and lime soda to wash it down. The kuboos was soft n fluffy, the chicken succulent and the lime soda fresh and tangy. It was a wow meal and we really enjoyed it. I had also ordered a beef nashif parotta roll for myself, which after the other food tasted pretty average. The bill was a shock, it was way lesser than what I had expected, given the quantity and quality. Overall it was worth the 19 hours of travel from Shillong, Meghalaya to this eatery where we serendipitously stopped. Highly rated for the food and the prices.

I've been ordering from here for the past 2 years. The food quality and taste has been consistent throughout the years! We do not have a proper fast food joint around the area apart from one particular fast food restaurant, which is pretty expensive. Amazing service and experience so far!
