Planter's Kitchen

Planter's Kitchen, a large restaurant within Sterling Resort, had a mixed impact. Upon entering, an odd and somewhat unpleasant odor was noticeable. Arriving later in the evening meant several tables were still uncleared with remnants of previous meals. We ordered a la carte, selecting the Chicken Biriyani and Tandoori Chicken. The Chicken Biriyani, priced at 699 + 18% GST, was flavorful but the portion size was surprisingly small, especially considering the cost. It seemed to be the same as what was offered at the buffet, making the price feel unjustified. The Tandoori Chicken, however, was quite good. The 18% GST on the bill was noted, and the manager's willingness to offer a discount was a positive aspect. In conclusion, Planter's Kitchen is currently expensive for the quantity and overall ambiance. While the Sterling Resort itself might offer some appeal for a visit, the restaurant needs considerable attention regarding cleanliness, portion sizes relative to price, and the condition of its furnishings. There is potential here, but significant improvements are needed.

There are handful of restaurant options in Munnar and if you're struggling to find one, this is where you should go. We didn't stay at the resort but I ended up here thanks to Google maps. A proper fine dine place to eat! Good option if you're traveling with family

One of the best restaurants in Munnar! The food was fresh, flavorful, and well-presented. Loved the Malabar biryani and the pepper chicken--absolutely delicious. The staff was courteous, and the service was prompt. The view from the restaurant is breathtaking, making the meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Munnar!

Had an amazing dining experience at Planters Kitchen! The restaurant offers a fantastic blend of local Kerala flavors and continental dishes, making it a perfect choice for all kinds of food lovers. We tried their authentic kerala-style fish curry, and it was packed with flavors--spicy, tangy, and cooked to perfection. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with a beautiful view of Munnar's greenery. The staff was very attentive and ensured we had a great time. Definitely a must-visit if you're in Sterling Munnar!

We, 51 retired Chief engineers of TANGEDCO Tamil Nadu had the privilege of staying at Sterling Resorts, Munnar, for 3 days (24th Sept-27th Sept 2024) . Under the leadership of the supervisor, Mr. Vikram, we had a pleasant stay. The food provided was scrumptious and enjoyable. The staff was hospitable. We, collectively, appreciate the service all the way from the bell boy,stewards, and the chefs to the Superiors, including Vikram. They were very cordial and friendly. They were very dynamic and enthusiastic in Preparing hot stuff as and when required by the guests. Kudos!

Great food and ambience

Service is great here. At dinner I got complementary sweet, a nice gesture from them. However I feel that taste could be improved. Options are also very limited. And yes the prices are on higher side for starters.
