Swargam

I had heard a lot about this place, especially for its vibrant night-time ambience and the heavy crowd it draws after dark. However, I visited during lunchtime. I tried the Catla fry, Kalanjitawa fry, and crab roast. While the fish tasted fresh, the overall food experience felt average. Service was quite poor -- we had to wait over 5-6 minutes after being served rice to get the side dishes, and only after we reminded the staff. The ambience is pleasant, with the restaurant located by the riverside. It's a bit off the highway, about a kilometre in, but easy to find. There's a large parking area, which is convenient. Prices are slightly on the higher side considering the overall experience.

'Swargam' which translates as heaven is aptly named. The environment is quite heavenly, located as it is on the banks of the vembanad backwaters as it goes on to meet the Arabian Sea some 7-8 kms further west. As to the food, it's the most delectable seafood spread as compared to even the fancy restaurants in Cochin! We had crab roast, Prawn Pidi, Chicken Kanthari and a host of Kerala breads starting from wheat puttu to idiyappams! They were simply divine! The dining is out in the open in a very tastefully decorated area. The view at sunset is a photographer's delight! Even in the scorching April sun, the evenings here are very pleasant with a gentle sea breeze to cool you. Although vegetarian dishes are very limited, 'Swargam' is truly a heavenly experience for all

The ambience is absolutely wonderful, especially with the serene lakeside view -- it's a great place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. However, the food was just average. Not bad, but nothing particularly memorable either.

If you enjoy having Good food, with a scenic view of the lake, swargam is a must place to visit. We visited at noon,Thus only meals were available. Yet with simple curries it was delicious. We can buy their specials with meals which is also great.

The vibe this place offers is really amazing. Calm and relaxing atmosphere by the water side with a dim-lit and serene mood. The food, on the other hand, was just ordinary. I was not impressed by the flavors of the dishes as the main ingredient did not stand out in most of the dishes they served. For those planning to visit, especially on weekends, make sure to call and book seats in advance to avoid waiting long to get a seat.

One of the Best restaurants I've seen so far in Kochi. The vibe is next level. A beautiful lakeside view with live music. The food is really the highlight here. It's too good. The prices are fair. I would really recommend family as well as friends to give a visit at least once.

The restaurant provides good ambience. It is located very near to the backwater which gives a beautiful view from restaurant. They provide variety of seafoods and they are tastier as well. Had heavy rush during our visit. Better do online booking to avoid waiting time.
