AMMAYOONU (Seafood Restaurant)

On our way to Periyar restaurant, we stumbled upon 'Ammayoonu restaurant' and decided to give it a try since we were super hungry. With no expectations, we were pleasantly surprised! We were initially unsure about the quantity of the chattichore, but 'thanks to Preethu,' the waitress, we made the perfect decision to split one portion into two. It was more than enough for both of us and tasted delicious! We can't wait to come back and try their pothi biriyani and neichoru next time. Highly recommend this place for great food and service!

One of the best and authentic Sea food restaurant with amazing Kerala cuisine, homely ambiance, and traditional flavors. Known for its fresh, well-spiced fish curry and seafood dishes, the restaurant also offers prompt and friendly service. Though I find it a bit pricey, the quality justifies the cost. In short, Ammayoonu provides a satisfying taste of traditional Kerala food. I tried their Chatti choru and I must say it was top class. The best of all !! Do try their fish egg fry as well.

Had November 1st lunch. After seeing 5 star ratings of this place, decided to give a try. But unfortunately turned out to be a bad experience. Simple meals with sambar and curry without fish costs rs200 and that was an average meal. Ordered neymeen fry -rs300.. fresh fish but lacked masala. Prawns roast with about 25 prawns - rs 360.. taste was good. For an extra pappadam, rs 5 to be given. Overall not satisfied with this.

I recently visited Ammayoonu restaurant. I tried their meals, fish fry, and fish mango curry. While the food was decent, I found it to be just average overall, their service was good. The fish fry was good.

Homely restaurant. Their soft serves set the bar high. Friendly staff, Preethu chechi and the softies she makes are really underrated.
