KAYAL MACHALI RESTAURANT

We visited this restaurant twice. Our first visit was in November 2024. We had kakka roast and fish pollichathu. Both dishes were good, and there were a decent number of fish options at that time. On our second visit in March 2025, however, the experience wasn't as good. The fish options were fewer than before, and the prices felt high for the quantity served. Overall, the value for money seemed to have declined.

Kayal Machali is located at Kodimatha.. I had gone for lunch and dinner.. For lunch the meals and fish items were super tasty.. And for dinner thattu Kada food was also available.. Dosa, chicken fry, beef fry and fish Tawa fry tasted awesome.. Mosquitoes biting was a let down.. Ample parking space is available.. Worth a visit for food lovers..

Tasty meals, kalanchi fish fry. Meals were standard with 4 side dishes, payasam. Fishes served were very fresh and tasty. Service was also superb. My family liked it. Located at the roadside. Plenty of parking infront of the restaurant. Affordable prices too

We dined in for lunch, we had the basic meals with add-ons. The food was tasty. The service was excellent. The staffs were all friendly and helpful. The chemmeen curry was so delicious. We also tried Meen mutta thoran, Kalanji fry, Mathi tawa fry - all were really good.

one of the best sea food restaurants in Kottayam. The ambiance was lovely, and the staff was incredibly attentive. Highly recommend for anyone craving a top-notch seafood dining experience! Adequate car parking facility is available here.

Kayal Machali offers an authentic Kerala dining experience with their meals served on a banana leaf. The meal includes unlimited servings of sambar, fish curry, podi meen curry (small fish), and mor (curd dish), all of which are placed on the table. On the leaf, you're treated to pachadi, mango pickle, kaa toran (raw banana toran), payar toran, and papadam, finishing with a cup of payasam. For just 100, the quantity and quality are exceptional, and the ambience adds to the experience. However, the Ayala meen fry, though delicious, felt a bit pricey at 120 for a single fish. Overall, it's a great spot for a satisfying and budget-friendly Kerala meal.

Kayal Machali in Kottayam is a seafood lover's delight, reminiscent of Karthiyayini Restaurant in Kochi. The restaurant, designed in a charming hut style, offers standard banana leaf fish curry meals with various fish curries and fries, each dish being excellent. We had prawns roast, Ayila Fish Fry, and Vatta Fish Fry--all were good. I've visited 2-3 times with a group of 10, and the service was consistently good despite the busy lunch hours. While it's not ideal for dinner, ample parking is available.

A new joint at Kottayam which serves good sea food and local cuisine located on the MC road . The fish dishes are great here and also the beef dishes . They have a kappa ( tapioca beef ) and konje ( lobster) nirthi porchethe - which is quite interesting . Meals is also quite good out here
