Customer Reviews & Testimonials
Very popular non vegetarian restaurant famous for Kozhikodan delicacy. Seperate Parking ground is available with free pick up and drop. It's very crowded being a popular place. Waiting facilities are good and they accomtodate guests quickly. We selected AC section. We had leghorn Chicken dum biriyani and lime Tea. The quantity of Biriyani was too much for one person. Very much recommended.
Tucked away in the heart of Kozhikode, Rahmath Hotel is not just a restaurant -- it's a culinary landmark, a place where flavors are passed down like heirlooms and biriyani is served with reverence. For decades, this humble eatery has drawn in crowds with a magnetic pull, and at the center of that attraction: its legendary beef biriyani. The moment you step in, you're hit with the unmistakable aroma of spices -- rich, warm, and nostalgic. There's no pretense here, only the comforting buzz of people who know exactly why they've come. You'll likely wait in line, but trust me, it's a small price for what awaits. First up, the beef biriyani. This dish is what loyalists swear by. Tender, slow-cooked beef melds with short-grain Khaima rice in a symphony of flavor that speaks to tradition and mastery. The meat is perfectly spiced -- not overpowering, but deep and complex -- and the rice soaks up all the richness without turning greasy. Every bite feels like a story being told by generations of cooks. The chicken biriyani, though often overshadowed by its beef counterpart, holds its own with grace. Juicy, well-marinated pieces of chicken are wrapped in that same fragrant rice, creating a slightly lighter but equally indulgent experience. It's a crowd-pleaser that caters to both seasoned foodies and first-time visitors. What makes Rahmath's biriyani truly exceptional isn't just the flavor -- it's the pedigree. The recipes haven't changed with time, and neither has the passion. You can taste the legacy in every grain, every spice, every morsel of meat. In a city known for its love affair with biriyani, Rahmath Hotel doesn't just serve food -- it upholds a tradition. And if you haven't been yet, you're missing out on a piece of Kozhikode's soul. Rating: 5/5 -- For anyone who worships biriyani, this is sacred ground.
Undoubtedly one of the most iconic spots in Calicut for biriyani lovers, and it lives up to much of its reputation. The food is flavorful and satisfying, especially the Beef Biriyani, which is their best-seller and rightly so. It's rich, aromatic, and consistently good. However, I tried the Chicken Dum Biriyani as well, and it featured lagoon chicken, which didn't quite match the taste or quality I was expecting. If you're visiting, I'd strongly recommend skipping the chicken and going straight for the beef, it's what they're known for and it won't disappoint. The biggest downside here is the service. It's not the most attentive or friendly, and during rush hours, it can feel a bit chaotic. That said, the staff do a great job when it comes to managing the crowd. Even if there's a wait, they're quick and efficient in finding and setting up tables, ensuring no one is left waiting for too long. All in all, Rahmath Hotel delivers where it matters most--the food. Just be prepared for a basic service experience and opt for their signature dish for the best experience. Also they have spacious parking just 100m away and also bigger dining area on the opposite side of the building.
Rahmath hotel is one of the food icon of calicut, I have many experience ther,it was good and delicious. But today I'm really disappointed, I tried thier beef ribs biriyani, it's not good as their normal biriyani, and it's too spicy, in my case bombay hotel are the best for biriyani nowadays. I give 2 out of 5 mark for their food, but service and atmosphere, clenes are great and noticeable.
After almost 30 years, I had the chance to revisit Rahmath Hotel a few days back. While the name still carries its good tradition, there isn't much else to highlight. Tried their "Kunji Kozhi", which turned out to be just a regular fried chicken, weighing around 250g--true to its name but lacking any standout masala or unique flavor. The taste was fairly ordinary, nothing remarkable. On the positive side, the service was fast and the place was clean, which added to the overall experience. However, for a place with such a legacy, I expected more in terms of flavor and distinctiveness. A visit for nostalgia, but not much for excitement.
Just went there for a quick chai and snacks. Been there for tasting their biriyani which they are famous for. But this time I had a different plan. The tea was nice and the samosa was crispy. Reminded the old samosas which were hard and crispy.
Visited Rahmath Hotel in Kozhikode, which is well-known for its authentic biryani. However, I felt it was a bit overrated and extremely crowded. The chicken was too salty, but the taste was still good. If you don't mind the rush, it might be worth a try, but it didn't fully live up to the hype for me. Fish biriyani was okay.
If you're looking for the best beef biryani in Kozhikode, Rahmath is the place to go. During my visit to Kozhikode, almost everyone recommended Rahmath and Paragon for their amazing food. I was curious why these places were so highly praised. When I arrived at Rahmath around 1 pm, there were only a few seats left. Thankfully, the staff managed to arrange a table for three of us. We ordered the beef biryani, and it was served in just 5 minutes. Let me tell you, it was the best biryani I've ever had in my life! The flavors were incredible, and the dish was so delicious that we didn't even feel the need for any side dishes. Over the next few days, I tried biryani from Paragon, KBC, and a few other places, but nothing came close to Rahmath's biryani. The only downside is the parking situation. We had to park near the Mathrubhumi MM Press and walk to the restaurant. However, the excellent service, friendly staff, and amazing food made up for it. It was the perfect spot for a satisfying lunch. If you're in Kozhikode, don't miss Rahmath - it's truly special!
