Cochin Restaurant

Whenever we visited Munnar, we noticed this hotel but never thought of trying it. I regret that now. There's a saying, "Never judge a book by its cover," and that perfectly applies here. This time, we visited the hotel unexpectedly, and I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of their dishes, especially the fish curry and moru curry. They tasted just like home-cooked meals. I personally appreciated the concerned person (Umma) for preparing these dishes with her own hands. I can't express enough how much I enjoyed it. I highly recommend visiting and experiencing it for yourself. They have a limited quantity of food available, so make sure to arrive early for lunch, breakfast, or dinner. The Food is very tasty and homemade. We had chicken biriyani and meals. Both were very good. The Restaurant was also very clean and good view of a mountain and river.

Such worst restaurant I have been. We had kerala meals and a very small portion of beef roast. After coming home I started vomiting and got diarrhea for whole night. Also my husband suffered stomach pain and diarrhea. When you provide food and please make sure it should be hygienic and edible to others. I will never visit this restaurant again and also never suggest it to anyone else.

I've been to this restaurant a few times before and had a great experience, which is why I decided to bring my family here while returning from Munnar. Unfortunately, our visit this time was nothing short of a disaster. It was late afternoon, the day after Christmas, and we were all hungry, excited to enjoy the same quality food we had before. We ordered biryani and meals, but what we received was extremely disappointing. The biryani was nothing more than some leftover chicken pieces tossed into rice--nothing like what we had enjoyed on our previous visits. The meals were even worse, just rice with sambar, pickles, and some onions. If certain dishes or ingredients weren't available, the restaurant could have informed us in advance, but instead, we were left with subpar food. What's worse is the attitude of the staff, especially the manager. When we expressed our disappointment, the response was rude, with the manager actually saying, "If you want to eat it, then eat it." This is completely unacceptable in any customer service scenario. We weren't there for free food; we paid exactly what was listed on the menu, expecting the same quality we had previously enjoyed. Sadly, this experience has made me question whether I'll ever return, and I certainly won't be recommending it to anyone again. Respect for customers and consistency in food quality should always be priorities for any restaurant.

Had lunch while traveling from munnar. The food was just amazing and it was completely home style. The people in the restaurant were very friendly and offered a very good amount of food with superb taste and quality. We were also able to access the running water behind the hotel and we were relaxing there for a while. Hospitality was great. Would absolutely recommend it .

Best halting location on the way to Munnar with good food, restrooms, parking space & prayer room. Food was very tasty. Service was really good.

We had Ayala fish and chicken biryani at this small family restaurant, and it was sooo good! The vibes were so positive and uplifting.
