Hotel Sri Ashok Bhavan

We visited this restaurant as a group of eight, but the experience was disappointing from the start. Despite ample space in the AC hall, the staff was unwilling to merge tables, and it took 30 minutes for them to accommodate us. The manager's unhelpful attitude and the rude staff further soured the experience. To make matters worse, we were asked twice to lower our voices while simply chatting, which felt unnecessary. After placing our order, there was a delay in serving the food, adding to our frustration. The food had a few highlights, like the Mushroom Pepper Fry, Hariyali Paneer Tikka, and the Dhal Tadka, all of which were flavorful. However, several dishes missed the mark, including the bland Aloo Jeera Fry, disappointing Palak Paneer, and watery Sweet Lassi. The Gobi Parotta and Aloo Tikka were particularly forgettable. While the quality of some dishes was acceptable, the poor service and inconsistency in food quality made the overall experience less enjoyable.

An old, laid back hotel which I reckon was popular in its time for vegetarian food. As you enter you also find a counter selling chips, crisps and sweets and other local flavour food. However our visit was disappointing- the Vada was raw on the inside and the sambhar had gone cold The masala dose was undercooked and the potato filling was very salty. The hotel has an old charm about it, with long benches. However it can be maintained cleaner. The parking is about 100 meters away in a private parking space.

Hotel Sri Ashok Bhavan in Palakkad offers spacious veg accommodations. Food didn't impress me. Courteous staff, pleasant ambiance are positives. A decent option for vegetarians seeking comfort. Improvement in food quality would elevate the experience.

The place during lunch time is a mess. The service people behave as if they don't belong there. It's not organised or they are not aware of the menu or what's served where. If you sit in a family room meals are not served. If you sit outside nothing else on the menu is served. The family room can accommodate only up to 4 small families of 4. Imagine if you wanna have something either order online or don't have the service man's attitude.

I had great experience with this place years ago-the food used to be really tasty.but now the taste has changed a lot. I ordered masala dosa, and it didn't taste good at all. Really disappointed.

This hotel used to have amazing food that truly lived up to the hype, but my recent visit was a bit disappointing. The food is still okay, but it lacks the old quality I remember. Overall, it's still a nice place, just missing that past magic!

One of the popular vegetarian restaurant in Palakkad town. Visited on numerous occasions, didn't find the Meals/ Thali appealing. Not worth the money. The sides and curry not good compared to other vegetarian restaurants Staffs, service, seating is excellent Their dosas are a great option too

Had snacks on Sunday (15.12.24). That Samosa was very old one which I informed the serving person and counter. I ate only a small portion still am faced food infection now am under treatment for the same. So pathetic service from the management.
