Customer Reviews & Testimonials

If in a restaurant the owner is eating his own restaurant food sitting next to you like any other customer, then believe me, never hesitate to have food from that restaurant. You can be assured of fresh and wholesome food. In Palakkad this is one such restaurant......

Akhil Alappattu

Hotel Sri Harihara Puthra in Palakkad offers good food at very reasonable prices, making it a popular choice for many. The meals, priced at just 70, were decent, while the curd rice at 52 and Chana Battura at 66 were also enjoyable. A special mention goes to their payasam--it was simply awesome, and the perfect end to our meal! However, there are a few drawbacks. When visiting with family, the need to take a token for meals and being served in a separate section can be inconvenient, especially when some family members want meals while others prefer different dishes. The service could also be improved, as the staff, although experienced, were a bit slow, possibly due to their age, which led to delays. Parking can be an issue, with space available mainly for two-wheelers. The restaurant tends to get crowded during peak hours, so be prepared for a wait. Despite these minor inconveniences, the overall food quality, especially the payasam, and the cost-effectiveness make it a reliable option in the area.

Authentic palakkad brahmin style food. Had meals with payasam and curd additional Rs 30 & 10. If you're looking for good food that does not hinder your stomach, you should try this. For Rs 110 it's worth it. Especially Ada pradaman was top notch.

I would have given it more stars if they kept their sevice upto the mark with better serving staff.. The waiters there were more of senior aged people who apparently might be their oldest staff or people with more than my age in experience, but the fact is the way they served were as if " You want to have what we have now, then you can have or else get out " kind of an attitude .. Yes i went there in the morning hours by 8:30am, they did have many of the items like dosa, sevai, vada, ghee roast, etc.. But no masala dosa, no poori.. I would love it if they told the same in a much polite manner.. Its ok.. The quality of food was just exactly what you would expect in a traditional pure veg restaurant.. Their ghee unniappam was awesome.. A big thankyou to the man at the cash counter who asked his staff to get me the unniappam that was just getting prepared and had not yet made its way out of the kitchen .. Rates were on the higher side, but with so much hype on pure veg, pure ghee and all pure hashtags, defnitely they have made it a brand now and so sadly we have to the pay the price of it.. When in palakkad you can definitely try one breakfast or evening snack here. Gheen roast Rs 80( good but not sure if 80 is justifiable )vada Rs 18(average vada, nothing special about it).. Cleanliness.. I cant say anything about hygiene, you can check it out yourself. Anyways one thing is for sure.. In the coming years it wont be affordable by common people there as a daily spot.. Its moving more towards a Luxury . Food is for hunger

I was really looking forward to the lunch(meals), but it fell far short of my expectations. The quality, which used to be good, has declined significantly--now it's definitely not worth the steep prices they're charging. Even basic items like curd and payasam come with extra charges. Overall, the experience was a complete letdown and offers zero value for money!"

I recently visited a this local restaurant that served decent, simple food. The puri masala came with two large, oily puris, and the aloo masala was good. The masala roast was tasty and a highlight of the meal, while the filter coffee was satisfying. I also took home some badam burfi, which was deliciously sweet. Food were prepared with no unnecessary spices making it simple and nice. However, I was concerned about cleanliness; the men's restroom wasn't very clean and only had a standing urinal. Despite this, the food was worth the visit, but I hope they improve their hygiene.
