Customer Reviews & Testimonials
Food was okay. Chapathi was very hard and veg curry and beef curry was also not up to the mark. Loved Kappa and kattan.
cost effective food. average taste and small quantity .
Feb,22nd Saturday I had lunch at this restaurant. Kappa, fish curry, karimeen pollichathu were ordered. Quantity of Kappa was very less. Mulakitta curry and karimeen were okay since the fish was fresh. Then we ordered Chemmeen roast, expecting fried chemmeen with thick gravy, coconut pieces with onion and veppila spread over it. But to our surprise 10 to 12 pieces of boiled small size Chemmeen spread in small drops of oil and ordinary chilly power given. Chemmeen gave us a puzhungiya feel. Wife poured out the oil. We asked the supplier is this Chemmeen roast.? Yes this is it..Lesson.. Never ever order anything without asking how it is prepared. The prices were very high compared to the atmosphere they provide. An ordinary reataurant non ac charging 4 star rate even higher than Paragon restaurant.
The food was both overpriced, and tasteless. Furthermore, the portions were too small and not worth the price. Also, the service is average. Due to the lack of menu cards, the waiter keeps verbally describing the available foods continuously and repeatedly. As mentioned by others, it's important to get the price first. Because there is dynamic pricing for all. What's funny is that even though they give you the total cost, it's rare to receive a detailed bill. Here, neither the quality nor the experience was worth it. In fact, you're paying for a terrible dining experience that ruined a pleasant meal. Ambience: it's an old house building that has been renovated.
Karimpumkala Family Restaurant in Kottayam is renowned for its non-vegetarian dishes, and it certainly lives up to its reputation! While the vegetarian options are somewhat limited, non-veg enthusiasts will find the food delightful. The extensive variety of non-veg dishes impresses everyone, ensuring a satisfying meal. This restaurant serves delicious traditional Kerala cuisine that leaves you feeling content. Conveniently located on the Changanassery-Kottayam route, it offers parking, though it can be a bit tight during peak hours. The restaurant, which started as a humble toddy shop in 1958, has grown into a reputable family-run establishment nestled among greenery. It is a popular destination for both locals and tourists seeking authentic Kerala flavours. The restaurant operates from 7:30 AM to 9:30 PM, offering a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes prepared fresh daily.
This restaurant is famous for its non-veg dishes and it certainly lives up to its reputation! As a vegetarian, my options were quite limited, but my non-veg friends absolutely loved the food. The variety of non-veg dishes was impressive and everyone in our group really enjoyed their meal. The restaurant serves typical tasty Kerala food that is sure to leave you feeling satisfied. The location is convenient and parking is available, although it can be bit tight during peak hours.
I have been here a couple of times and every time the food is top notch. Really enjoyed being back here last day. Staff as always really polite and friendly.
"Karimpinkala Restaurant in Kottayam is a hidden gem! The fish pollichathu was absolutely delicious--perfectly spiced and cooked to perfection. What surprised me most was the price--very affordable for such great quality. A must-visit for seafood lovers!"
