KARTHIKA DINE INN

We visited this restaurant on our way to Thalassery. This is the only pure vegetarian restaurant in this area that we could find. We had thali for lunch which included kerala curries and sambar, rasam served with rice. Taste was ok. For dinner we had chapathi, malabar parota with paneer butter masala and gobi chilly. Taste is good. We also tried dosa, puttu idly and kadala curry. Staff are also helpful in ordering..

The masala dosa in Karthika, like many other restaurants in Kerala is far from the authentic dosa quality. The dosa must be slightly thick, roasted on the outside & soft on the inside. The colour must be almost brown. I am adding a pic of a dosa from Karnataka here.

After a long time, I had one of the best masala dosas, and it was truly a delight! In and around Thalassery, vegetarian food options are quite limited, but Karthika Dine Inn stands out as a great choice. Visited for breakfast with family and tried the masala dosa, ghee roast, and poori--each dish was delicious. The masala in the masala dosa was just perfect, adding a wonderful burst of flavor. The food was not only tasty but also budget-friendly, making it an excellent value for money. The restaurant is conveniently located on the highway, making it easily accessible. Parking is decent, though it could be better. Overall, a great spot for a satisfying vegetarian meal in Thalassery. Highly recommended!
