Dropped by Ali Baba at Vellayambalam and tried their chicken biriyani - the one with kaima rice. Honestly, it was pretty good. The rice was well-cooked, the mix was balanced, and it had that nice aesthetic appeal you expect from a good biriyani. The chicken masala was a bit too runny and sort of soaked through the rice more than it should've, but it wasn't a dealbreaker. The service, though, needs a serious upgrade. The biriyani took a while to arrive and I had to literally get up and check with the guy at the billing counter to see if they'd forgotten the order. That kind of wait just kills the whole vibe. Now, the real letdown was the chicken pot soup. That was a disaster. It had none of the richness or depth you expect from a pot soup. It tasted like someone had emptied an entire jar of chilli powder into it - way too spicy, no balance, and clearly no tasting before serving. A bit of moderation and quality check in the kitchen would go a long way. Overall, decent biriyani, avoid the soup, and don't expect quick service. Giving it three stars - mostly for the biriyani.

I tried the 'Paal Parotta' and it was delicious. The portion size was just right-definitely a must try from their menu. The restaurant has a spacious interior with plenty of tables, making for a pleasant dining experience overall. There is parking available in front, but it's limited and tends to fill up quickly during peak hours.

Tasty food and humble staff. As mentioned in the menu it took 25 minutes to get served and we reached there a bit late for lunch so some dishes were unavailable, luckily got a pair of tasty fish biriyani, comparatively short of quantity(so I adjusted it with the quality ), as starter we ordered some kebab which is too good and yummy. As it was late some desserts were unavailable and we adjusted with ice cream fruit salad, Its quantity is worth the money we pay. No words of the atmosphere and the ambience, top class. Overall it's good and I will visit again to have some exclusive dishes.

Alibaba & 41 Dishes in Sasthamangalam, Trivandrum is a total foodie hotspot serving up a mix of Arabian, South Indian, Chinese, and North Indian vibes. Their biryani? Straight-up legendary--many say it's one of the best in town. Most folks love the bold flavors and chill service, but yeah, the quality and portions can be a bit hit or miss sometimes. The place has a decent vibe, and the staff are friendly, though things can slow down when it gets packed. All in all, it's a solid pick if you're down to try a bunch of different tastes. Just check the latest reviews and maybe avoid the rush hours for a smoother experience.

We recently visited Alibaba and 41 Dishes in Vellayambalam and had a delightful dining experience! The restaurant's ambiance was clean and hygienic, which is always a plus. The standout dishes for me were the Chicken Stew and Paneer Butter Masala - both were absolutely delicious and flavorful! The Thenga Pathiri was also tasty. However, the Coin Parotta didn't quite meet my expectations. One area for improvement is the quantity of food served. I felt that the portions were a bit small. Overall, I'd definitely recommend Alibaba and 41 Dishes for their tasty food and clean atmosphere. With a few tweaks to their portion sizes and dish consistency, they could easily become a top-rated restaurant in the area. Rating: 4/5

Worst experience.. have orders via zomato. Coin porotta looked like kids chapathy! And paneer butter masala tasted like a sweet dish. Never ordering again!!! But on calling the restaurant they were Courteous enough to send for a replacement which was not accepted.

One of the better family restaurants that was a guaranteed fine dining experience initially. Then lock downs happened and likevall businesses this also went through a period but they have picked up it seems. Not yet pre-covid levels but definitely good. This time around ordered the mutton ribs along with butter naan and coin parotta. Everything was well prepared and tasty. The mutton ribs though a bit pricier as expected was an eye opener since it was beef ribs that was my regular choice from some of the other places till recently. Appam was also excellent but fish molly was kind of bland. All in all a good experience at Ali baba.

Had dinner from here, was good. Ordered chappathi, varatharacha chicken curry (Kerala style), chicken 65 , brocolly creamy chicken soup etc. The chicken curry was not so tasty as we expected. Service was good
