Azad Star at Vazhuthacaud

One of the best restaurants at vazhutacaud. Ordered murgh platter, bbq sizzler, Ceylon porotta, persian fried rice, kozhi peralan, appam, mutton curry,butter naan and soup. None of the dishes were outstanding. Everything was good enough to eat but not enjoy. Only the platter was a bit better with some different flavours. Bbq sizzler was just average but had lot of vegetables. Fried rice was salty. All Currys were average and ceylon porotta was a below average dish taste wise. Ambiance and service is really good.

I love the ambiance of the shop, i was told to wait but my kid was hungry on seeing it they arranged a place for us very fast,food was awesome the presentation of the food the taste everything was awesome, special mention about the staff realy friendly The passion fruit juice was awesom

We were staying at Hyatt Trivandrum and this restaurant is walkable distance from the hotel. Had dinner on 25th December, it was bit crowded but we got seats in 15 mins. The food was good. The waiter will explain thoroughly(if you ask about the particular dish) We ordered veg stew, egg parotta, kerala paratha everything was good in taste. But filter coffee was very average.

A very good spot for family dinners. We had chicken 65, Travancore chicken fry, Porota , Appam and paneer butter masala . Each dish had its authentic taste and it proved worthy for the money paid.

Great food and ambience. Must try biriyanis and fish curry meals. Service was very slow when we visited on a weekend. It was crowded too. Parking space is very limited.

Ordered Mutton Biriyani and Mint Lime Juice. The food was fabulous. Mouth watering biriyani - when the rice is soaked in mutton juices with spices , it's lovely. Nothing to complain about. The pickle was also good. The mint lime tasted good. Mutton Biriyani -9/10 Mint lime -8/10

Had creamy soup, butter nan, wheat parotta, kadai veg subji, chicken alfaham, fruit salad with ice-cream and pine apple juice..all food taste good..however I ordered half alfaham and the price seems like I'm buying a silver chicken alfaham..they charge me 425 RSv plus tax for half alfaham..in this price I can buy whole alfaham or whole grill chicken from famous hotels in trivandrum..I would suggest the hotel management to rethink about alfaham price..atmosphere is calm and cool..but the parking facility is no that great..it would be better if they have a valet parking

Decades back when I first heard the name biriyani and first tasted it especially mutton biryani it was from their thampanoor outlet and to this day their biriyani still taste the same. Recently i visited their outlet in vazhuthacaud and had the same biriyani and the rice and mutton well cooked and very tasty. Great.
