Customer Reviews & Testimonials
Imperial Kitchen serves up an experience that goes beyond just satisfying hunger--it's a warm hug of nostalgia for lovers of authentic Kerala cuisine. The star of the meal was undoubtedly the nadan mutton muringakka soup. This traditional soup, infused with the bold flavors of tender mutton, aromatic spices, and the earthy richness of drumsticks (muringakka), was comfort in a bowl. The broth had just the right balance of spice and depth, simmered to perfection, with each spoonful offering a hearty, soul-soothing warmth that made it ideal for a breezy evening. Following that, the hot porottas came out fresh and flaky, their layers perfectly crisped on the outside and soft within. These were not your average parottas--each one felt handcrafted with care, designed to pair beautifully with the next showstopper: beef perattu. The beef perattu, a Kerala classic, was roasted to an impressive char with hints of black pepper, coconut bits, curry leaves, and a bold, spicy marinade that clung to each piece of meat. The beef was succulent and packed with smoky flavor, delivering the signature "poli" taste locals crave. The pairing with hot porotta made for a delightful contrast--the porotta absorbing the masala while still maintaining its structural integrity with each bite. Visited around 8:30 PM for a family dinner. The place had a decent crowd, but we were seated without much delay. We started off with Dragon Chicken and Phoenix Tail Golden Fried Prawns - both were absolutely fantastic! The flavors were well-balanced, and the texture was spot on. A great start to the meal. For the kids, we ordered: Pad Thai Chicken Noodles Chicken Fried Rice Chicken Biryani All the dishes were enjoyed thoroughly - portion sizes were good and taste well-suited for children too. For the adults, we went for a more traditional touch with: Palkappa (boiled tapioca) Erachi Chammanthi (spicy meat chutney) Grandma's Style Beef Roast Appam What a combination! The Erachi Chammanthi alone is flavorful enough to finish a whole plate of Palkappa. Pairing it with the beef roast took the experience to another level. Comforting and nostalgic -- just like a home-cooked treat.
Excellent restaurant in all aspects. The ambience is good and they r so quick in processing the orders. The food has the real taste and quality and worth the price. Valet parking is there which is very convenient. There r multiple floors and pre-booking will enable u complete smooth process.
Imperial Kitchen offers a pleasant dining experience with delicious food and courteous service. The ambience is clean and well-maintained, creating a comfortable atmosphere for guests. Valet parking is available, which adds to the convenience, especially since the front parking space is quite limited. Overall, a great place to enjoy a quality meal in a neat and welcoming setting.
I had a wonderful experience. The food was so tasty and amazing, I really appreciate the chef for making the dishes so delicious I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wish to eat good and delicious food. The ambience is so quiet and peaceful, the staffs were so nice. I was very satisfied with their service. Thanks to Imperial kitchen and their chef for the wonderful time.
The Imperial Kitchen offers a very impressive menu. The fish pollichathu, paratha, dynamite shrimp, fish masala, fish curry meals, and watermelon juice were all flavourful and enjoyable. However, I was a bit disappointed with the tawa chapathi and cheesecake. The customer service was warm and welcoming, and the ambience was very pleasant, itruly enjoyed the experience overall.
This is not a paid review. Here is my story. I have a severe food allergy (I have an epi-pen). My friends who live in Trivandrum have eaten here many times before, so they took us to this restaurant the first night we were in Trivandrum. The placemat says "Imperial Kitchen, The International Restaurant, where food is served personalized. Let me tell you how true this statement is. We asked to speak to the Chef and out came Sous-Chef Lijin Lawrence. He was very respectful and listened carefully. My friend and I explained everything had to be washed, no shared cooking surface or shared utensils could be used. We explained what food and ingredients I could and could not have. After acknowledging the limitations, he asked what I wanted. I told him to surprise me, and his eyes lit up with excitement. I was very nervous because I didn't want to spend the night in the hospital. The food arrived and out came the first of many exceptional meals. I ate there at least once every day except one (Lijin had the day off), many of the days two times a day for a week. Every interaction was better than the first. Every meal was absolutely exceptional. I have included pictures of most of the meals and of Lijin. Thank you Lijin, Imperial Kitchen, and your exceptional staff for making my trip to Trivandrum better than I could have hoped for. I look forward to visiting Kerala India again and you can count on me visiting repeatedly when I do!
Made a horrible decision to try this outlet as the Venpalavattom branch is our go-to place for dinner. That branch ticks all the right boxes every single time. Spacious, good interiors, Nice crowd, positive atmosphere. Ordered Chicken lollypop n panner tikka for starter. Both were good. Lollypop was outstanding. While we were at it, the main course arrived surprisingly early; We joked that they msit have know what we'll order when we started from home. Babycprn mushroom masala was good. Mutton Rogan Josh n Chicken Tikka Masala were near horrible. Neither was the masala nor the meat clicked. Was planning to order Steak, and realised we dodged a bullet. All the breads we ordered were good - Appam, kerala porotta, wheat porotta, garlic naan, butter naan were better than elsewhere. Falooda was ok, but quantity was more like a mini falooda we get elsewhere, but atleast it was good. Lime juice, Ginger lime all came in huge tumblers. Should have been the other way round though. Icing on the cake - cards were not accepted as Wifi at hotel was down. Wow. Then have me a QR to pay, that accepted only cash not Rupay. A premium restaurant, not so premium feel. Never Again!
Wonder experience. Good food good service and too good atmosphere. Tried Paal kappa with beef chammanthi : must try, good one Street style chilly chicken: average Our signature moile : Appam : too good. Kerala paratha : good Chicken salad : good Chilli garlic chicken soup : a little spicy Overall good experience
