Punchakkari Restaurant

A holiday afternoon called for a satisfying meal, and Punchakkari Shaap was the pick. Unlike my last visit, where the place was packed, this time it was much quieter, making for a relaxed dining experience. Food & Highlights: Ordered: Kappa, prawns, karimeen mappas, vila meen (wrapped in a leaf), pathiri, porotta, chicken, and a little rice. Standout Dishes: The vila meen and prawns stole the show--perfectly cooked and flavorful. Karimeen Mappas: Not my personal favorite, but ordered it for the family. Ambience & Experience: The new setup at Punchakkari Shaap is thoughtfully designed, offering a comfortable dining space for families. Given the location, it's a unique spot--there really isn't another place in Thiruvananthapuram quite like it with this kind of ambiance and menu.

As a tourist in Kerala, this was food heaven. We literally went into a food coma right after eating some lip smacking dishes. We tried almost everything on their menu from duck to beef to tapioca to prawns and their freshest fish. Except the prawns everything else was so damn good. The toddy something very similar to our Goan drink but had a slight vinegar sourness to it. We tried both the original and grape flavored and preferred the grape over the original cause it had slight sweet tones. This restaurant is located by the fields giving it great views specially when you're closer to the monsoons. Lush greens everywhere and you can even spot some cat fishes in the water. Overall, having to experience authentic Malyali cuisine amidst an amazing view, what more can you ask for. We loved this experience, hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Punchakari food shop. We enjoyed rice, kappa, appam, and porota, and loved that we could choose our preferred fish, which they freshly fry and serve. The duck was extremely delicious and a definite highlight. The kada fry is also a must-try, and the chemeen fry was equally great. Overall, the food was flavorful and satisfying, making it a great spot for traditional Kerala dishes. Highly recommended! Another highlight of Punchakari food shop is its scenic beauty--the area is lush, green, and truly beautiful, making the dining experience even more special. The natural surroundings add to the charm and make it a perfect spot to enjoy delicious Kerala food.

Punchakkari Restaurant food taste was awesome.. There fish and meat curries was superb..But the supplier behaviour is bad.We want to order more,supplier ignore us..I went with my family. We asked for family room.that supplier tell family room is maintaining..After food, another people are sitting and eating in family room.I've been here twice and this is the first time I've experienced this..Parking Space available..Pls instruct the supplier how to behave with customer.

Excellent Traditional recipes with lots of variety of non-veg food. Only for foodies, not for high-end 5-star ambient lovers!!!

Punchakkari Restaurant had mixed reviews from me. The fish was disappointing--tasted watery with a strong smell, as if fried straight from ice. However, the poth curry and chicken were outstanding, especially with appam and porotta--truly delicious! Ambiance is decent, and it's family-friendly. Hope they improve the fish quality!

Great ambiance at the Toddy shop with delicious food to match! The atmosphere was authentic and inviting, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy local flavors. Highly recommended for food lovers

If you have cravings for some nadan dishes, Punchakkari is good to go. We tried their Appam, kappa, Beef and duck roast. Their Appam is soft and best to try with duck roast. There is also live fish counters where you could choose them and they will prepare it as of your likes. They have seperate dinning area for family. Do visit with your friends and family.
