Customer Reviews & Testimonials
We rolled in pretty late, almost 2 AM. From the outside, it looked like the place was closed for the night. But the security guard said it was still open, so we went in. The outdoor dining area was super cool, with a really nice vibe. It's a shame they put that block in front, though. The food and service were both awesome. We tried the sandwiches and wraps, and they were delicious. This place is definitely worth checking out, especially at night.
Went to Koda cafe after looking at the reviews. It was Overall good. We tried Cream of Mushroom soup, Chicken 65, Egg Schezwan noodles, Hakka noodles and Chicken kondattam. Every item was good except Kondattam which was average. The service was quick. The waiters are all smiling welcoming and quickly clear the tables once you are done with the food. The ambiance was good. You get a feel you are having food inside a park. The items are a little pricey.
Good place for the night family to visit the vibe and ambiance are nice. Children and even couples can find it a cool place to dine. The best service I have seen here is all the staff are having good behavior and level head. There are two areas one is open view and the other is AC area. I have dined in open areas and will try the second area on my next visit.
We visited Koda Cafe for lunch during our trip to Thrissur and were impressed with its modern design and vibrant colour theme. The cafe offers both indoor seating and a lovely outdoor garden area, which is open in the evenings. When we asked the staff for recommendations on authentic Kerala dishes, they suggested Fish Pollichathu, Chicken Biryani, Beef Fry, and Wheat Porottas, so we decided to go with that. The Beef Fry was outstanding, so much so that we ordered a second serving, and the Fish Pollichathu was also delicious. However, the Biryani was fairly average--nothing particularly special. For drinks, we tried the ABC Juice (a blend of Beetroot, Apple, and Carrot) and it was refreshing, especially since we ordered it without sugar (they add sugar by default unless you specify otherwise). We also picked up a couple of desserts from the display unit: Tiramisu and Cream Caramel. The Tiramisu was disappointing, but the Cream Caramel was absolutely fantastic. Overall, Koda Cafe is a nice spot with a great concept. With some improvement in the flavours and taste of certain dishes, it could be an even better dining experience.
I have had food from here on multiple occasions. I loved the food. Ambience is good both inside and outside (in the backyard). I have had latte, wraps, Chinese items etc and I loved all of it. I wasn't impressed with the tea they served last time, it went a bit cold and had a strong taste of some spice. I loved their wraps, burgers coffee etc.
Mashed Potato was creamy and flavorful, the streak was chewy and the sauce was great. The salad was average, Ceaser would've been a better choice.
We were looking for a different eating joint, when my neice suggessted this place. And this was just very close to our home. The name looked a bit odd. Koda Cafe. I thought it must be some coffee joint on the highway. But, it is not. You not only get excellent coffee and tea, but also a variety of sandwiches to wraps to parathas to biryani to shawarmas to mojitos. My nephews who are kiwis just loved this place. The place is situated on the highway and has ample car space. The ambience is great. It is more of a non-veg restaurant, hut also has a variety of vegetarian dishes. We were a mixed bag of veggies and non-veggies. The menu catered to every palate. The staff is extremely humble. The manager (Mr Sachin) was very patient in handling the variety of choices ( Veg and non-veg) we 8 of us threw at him from the menu. He deftly handled them with ease and was kind enough to add more from the curated menu- every week they introduce two new unique dishes My nephew did try one of those curated pasta dishes and he went bonkers on it. The rest rooms are spacious and very neat. The best thing is, it is open up to 2 am. So, Koda Cafe serves not only those who are by-passing Thrissur city to go towards Kochi, but everyone who loves to eat and loves eating out. Because Koda Cafe is thoda hatke. Koda Restaurant is a great stop for travelers, conveniently located right next to the National Highway with abundant parking space and excellent visibility from the road. The dining area is on the first floor, though do note that there's no wheelchair access. The staff were extremely welcoming, polite, and attentive throughout our visit. The restaurant is clean and well-maintained, and the view from the dining area adds to the pleasant atmosphere. We tried their Mandi rice along with Alfahm, which comes in two variants -- Mexican and Moroccan. The Moroccan Alfahm had a spicy peri-peri-like kick, while the Mexican had a subtle coriander flavor. Both were delicious and well-cooked. Service was fast and efficient, even during busy hours. The washrooms were clean, which is impressive given the high footfall. Prices are on the slightly higher side, but considering the quality of food and service, it's definitely worth it.
