Their basic Kerala lunch is to die for . You can ask them for a plate of beef curry / roast .i would prefer the roast version as it's well consumed in the spices and tastes excellent with the yellow curd that they provide complimentarily ( if asked ).

This place will ruin your mood! Very poor staffing, food is very avg unhygienic plates. They will deliver thier choice and say we turned off the burner so eat.

I'm really surprised to read these reviews! If you want authentic keralan food this is the spot and its super cheap. The dosas, porata and curries are all delicious and the guys in there are all super friendly. And good chai! And they always have good veg options!! I go there at least once a day, sometimes 3!Take a chance, in my opinion you won't regret it! And if they forget your order (like they have mine lol) just remind them, they get busy and we're all human!

The place provides authentic Kerala meals. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Due to heavy crowd, sometimes, the stuff gets over, so it is recommended to go on time. The taste is satisfactory and the quantity is perfect. This place is very much the budget. So perfect in every way. Please note vegetarian options are not easily available, you can try for a vegetarian breakfast though. Please ask before as the dishes change daily.

I recently had the unfortunate opportunity to dine at Kerala Cafe in Varkala, and I must say, my experience left much to be desired. From the moment I walked in, I couldn't shake the feeling of disappointment. First and foremost, the prices on the menu were shockingly high for what was offered. I expected an authentic culinary experience, but what I received was far from it. The prices seemed to be inflated without any justification in terms of taste or quality. I left the restaurant with a bitter taste in my mouth, and not just from the food. Speaking of taste, the food was lackluster at best. I ordered a dish that was supposedly a local specialty, but it fell flat in terms of flavor and presentation. The ingredients seemed lackluster, and I couldn't help but feel like I could have prepared a better meal myself at a fraction of the cost. The biggest disappointment, however, was the customer service or rather, the lack thereof. The staff appeared disinterested and unengaged, making the already overpriced meal even harder to swallow. It seemed as if they were doing me a favor by serving me, rather than genuinely valuing my patronage. All in all, my experience at Kerala Cafe was far from enjoyable. The high prices, lackluster food, and poor customer service left me with a feeling of regret. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an authentic or enjoyable dining experience. There are far better options available in Varkala that offer better value and more memorable meals.

Very rude behaviour by the so called owner and servers. No menu card. No price list. Pricing is at their option according to customer. I visited on 23 Jan. Ordered an egg curry which was pre made and served chill. I noticed in the other table the owner teaching English. They ordered an egg half boil, they served omlette. Once they pointed out and asking for half boil he started teaching them english like do you know what's boil and what's fry? like this the conversation was going on, I intervened to curb him from further annoying them, then finally he provided them with half boil, further while settling bill, he started calculating in his calculator, and when I asked for bifurcation of bill he was not much inclined, then I calculated it on my own and paid it, Very rure behaviour by all staff here

Affordable pricing compared to costly cliff side restaurants. But no proper air circulation. Only a few fans and less space to move.Tried chicken biryani for 170/- rupees, tastes okay. Quantity is good.
