We visited this bakery today, @ Vazhakkulam, which has been delighting customers since 1980, and was truly impressed! I had the chance to try their rum-soaked plum cake, and it was absolutely delicious--rich, moist, and bursting with flavor. It's clear they've perfected their recipe over the decades. I also tried their pineapple cake, which was equally delightful. The balance of sweetness and the fresh pineapple flavor made it a perfect treat. The quality and attention to detail in their baked goods are remarkable. This bakery is a must-visit for anyone looking for timeless flavors and top-notch cakes. Highly recommended!

The bestest bakery in town!! Impressed with their quality standards and consistency, and our favourites are pineapple cake, red forst, chicken roll & cutlet, samosa, pups and the list goes on..we can't resist going here every weekend for a quick treat and we have referred several of our friends and family to shop here! Truly a delight to buy from here & also recently impressed with theme birthday cake they made for my toddler as well! This is how a great business is run..

I saw a lot of viral posts about this bakery and decided to buy their Christmas cake a try. I must say, the cake itself is really nice, the flavors are mild, not too spicy, and make it enjoyable for everyone. The packaging was a bit surprising, but that wasn't a major issue. The real downside was the courier service. Unfortunately, there was a significant delay, which I believe was due to the choice of courier. Despite that, the taste of the cake more than made up for it. The raisins gave a slight Nice flavors, but it complemented the overall flavor perfectly. It's definitely suggest to everyone

We bought the cake two days before, and it turned out to be really nice. The texture was soft and moist, with a creamy feel. and instead, there was a lovely blend of flavors, with some spicy notes coming through. The berries and orange were most noticeable on the last note, which added a nice touch. Somehow, it all came together great, and everyone enjoyed it--kids especially loved it! The rum flavor is there, but it's not overpowering. I couldn't really feel a strong rum presence, but it still worked well in the cake. Overall, it's a cake that everyone can enjoy.

A friend bought a pineapple cake from this bakery and we all shared it. It was honestly the best pineapple cake I had ever tasted. Very wonderful flavour and texture. Highly recommended. The staff are also lovely as I have since started following them on social media. Thanks Thelliyankal team

The disclaimer on the packaging was a bit confusing, label mentioned no rum was added, only rum flavors which felt a bit contradictory. Despite this confusion, The cake itself was absolutely delicious! The aroma was fantastic, and it tasted great. It was a hit with my friends, and I could definitely see this unique concept becoming a trend across India next year. Kudos to this small-town bakery for such an amazing product. This plum cake I tried recently left me unimpressed. While heavily promoted as a premium festive treat, the taste was disappointingly average--nothing special to justify the hype. The flavors lacked depth, with the fruit and spice notes feeling muted compared to traditional recipes. The price was another letdown, being much higher than expected for what was essentially a basic plum cake. It seems the product relies more on aggressive marketing than actual quality.

My friend sent me an old rum cake from her hometown, and I was amazed by the unique packaging. But the real highlight was the JD cake-- it's absolutely outstanding! I'm usually not a fan of plum cake, but this one changed my mind. It's by far the best plum cake I've ever had, with the perfect texture and moisture. Highly recommend giving it a try! I'm also a huge fan of their carrot dates pudding cake .
