Customer Reviews & Testimonials
Overpriced and Misleading. Visited Veliyaycha Kavu Hotel for lunch, and the experience was extremely disappointing. For just two member family , we were charged 1090 for a lunch - shockingly high considering the food and service There was no menu card shown, and no prices were displayed or communicated. They also don't serve regular water - only bottled water is provided and charged. I ordered a fish called "Para" and the staff member (supplier) casually asked if we wanted prawns. Assuming it was a small serving, I even told her to just bring one,at that time she asked shall I take two. A few minutes later, a huge Para fish was brought out without warning. I was shocked and told the staff that I hadn't expected such a big fish. She simply replied, "It's like this here." I then said I couldn't eat the prawns after that, but she told me "the order can't be cancelled." Despite this, I spoke with the management and fortunately got the prawn order cancelled - something the staff member claimed was not possible. This kind of service is misleading, especially for first-time customers. A normal supplier would inform customers about quantity and pricing beforehand. Here, it felt more like a trap to inflate the bill without our knowledge or consent. No supplier came near us to serve extra curry or rice . Would not recommend this place. Lack of transparency, overpriced dishes, and an approach that seems to exploit customers - especially those visiting for the first time - make it a bad experience overall. saadhaarnnkkaa pooyi tl vekkrut enn maatrN prryunnu.
I recently visited this restaurant and, while the food was overall good, my experience was somewhat mixed due to the overpriced menu and poor customer service. Let's start with the food: the beef roast was absolutely delicious, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting. It was perfectly cooked with a rich, flavorful seasoning that really stood out. Similarly, the Thala curry was also a standout dish. It had a wonderful balance of flavors, making it another highly recommended choice. However, I cannot say the same about the duck roast. Unfortunately, this dish did not live up to expectations. It was quite underwhelming in terms of flavor, and I would not recommend it. The fish fry was good, but it was a bit on the expensive side considering the portion size. Overall, the food was tasty, but for the price, I expected a bit more. One of the main drawbacks, however, was the service and overall experience at the restaurant. The place is quite expensive, and unfortunately, the level of service doesn't match the price tag. It was incredibly difficult to get a table, as there were no staff members available to guide customers to available seating. You had to find your own table, which was inconvenient and frustrating. After that, we had to chase down the staff to place our orders, which is quite unacceptable. The lack of attention to customer comfort and convenience left a negative impression on me. Given the high prices, I would expect much better service. While the food quality was fine, the lack of hospitality and the challenge of securing a table definitely overshadowed the experience. I personally would not recommend this restaurant based on the overall experience, but if you're looking for good food and are okay with paying a premium for it, then it might be worth considering. However, don't expect a seamless dining experience.
I recently visited this place for lunch, it was referred by one of our friends and it exceeded the expectation. It was the first time that we tried toddy and it was fresh and sweet. Their Kerala cuisine food is delicious. You need to try fish fry and crab roast. Their ambience was good. Their service was awesome.
Tasty food and remarkable service are to be highlighted. Needs improvement in ambiance.
We had lunch from this place. Road to this property is bit tricky. Toddy provided was not that good and can't say its authenticity. Food prices are at higher side. Seating area huts were hot and humid and not that clean. Food provided was also average.
Beef curry, chicken, duck roast, prawns were too good. Squid was utter failure and I seriously don't recommend. My relative also said the same opinion, who had visited the place two months ago. Kappa was so soft and side dishes with meals have so tasty. Don't expect too spicy food. It is not that spicy. Quantity is superb. Ask about the portions before you order . I'm sharing the pictures, like prawns 1/2 plate, duck 1/2 and its almost like 1 plate . The rates are not cheap nor high also. Beautiful location.
Food was good and reasonable cost, can sit with friends and catch up. Service too is good. It's located quiet inside in an off-road path and a beaten up paved mud road. The atmosphere is good, but the sitting arrangement could have been better.. seemed run downed.
The place offers small huts for dine in. Mixed crowd are found whn we walked in. Families are also accommodated and the place is safe too. A different ambience and a totally different experience. The staffs are highly efficient and helpful in choosing the dishes . Food was good and tasty too.
