Customer Reviews & Testimonials
Disappointing Experience Despite High Rating Imagine ordering food at a restaurant and after waiting nearly an hour, 2-3 main items are missing from your meal. That's exactly what happened to us. We had driven 250 km and decided to stop at this restaurant for lunch, attracted by its impressive 4.7 rating on Google. We arrived around 1:15 PM on a Sunday. The place looked appealing from the outside and even inside -- but to our surprise, it was completely empty. The only person there was a boy who looked about 11 or 12 years old. I asked him whether we could get the special thali (priced at 320). After thinking for about 5 seconds, he said yes and placed a water bottle on our table. That's when our wait began. While we were waiting, we saw one or two staff members casually walking around the dining area in their innerwear, holding toothbrushes and towels -- as if they were living there. Two more people arrived and sat beside us. They ordered crispy corn. After waiting half an hour those two people was told that crispy corn could not be served. Both customers left the restaurant. After nearly an hour, the boy brought out the special thalis and casually informed us that rice was not available, so they added one extra chapati instead. Since we were extremely hungry and didn't want to go elsewhere, we agreed. But then we noticed more missing items -- papad and raita -- which were clearly listed in the menu. When we asked, the boy returned with a papad and a small bowl of green chutney. I asked him what it was, and he insisted, "It is raita." I had never seen green-colored raita in my life. I tasted it -- it was clearly chutney. Still, the staff kept insisting it was raita. Since we were very hungry, we didn't argue further and started eating. The chapatis and paneer sabzi were good. The dal, however, was burnt, and the mixed veg (gobhi and barbati) was undercooked -- we couldn't eat it so we left it. At the end, we checked the sweet dish -- a creamy paste in a small bowl. We thought it was custard, but after tasting it, we realized it was melted ice cream. Has anyone ever been served melted ice cream as dessert? Overall, I still can't understand how this restaurant managed to maintain a 4.7 rating -- perhaps they are old reviews. If there were an option for 0 or negative stars, I would choose that. We are never visiting this place again. I think the staff members spoiling such a nice ambience restaurant. I hope my review will reach the owner and he could improve the service.
The food is delicious, but they take time to prepare and serve. The items are worth every penny. This is one of the best restaurants on this highway
