MPT Safari lodge, Mukki, Kanha

We booked the accommodation of MP Tourism at Mukki, Kanha National Park for two days. Before going there, we did not have much idea of this place. But when we reached there, we were surprised with its impressive look. A beautiful well maintained campus. The room was very comfortable, and despite being a government property, everything was working perfectly and nicely maintained. In fact, we did not have sufficient time to explore the whole campus and its associated attractions, such as swimming pool, nature walk, approaching river, etc. We had booked two jungle safaris through MP forest online, and on reaching there they arranged our vehicles - so we did not have any hassle and we were just picked up and dropped directly at the lodge. There is a large parking area, in which our car was safely parked for two days. Another big plus point is the food. We really enjoyed their excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet. Very simple homely food, yet tasty. The mutton curry in our final dinner at Kanha was just excellent. On the final day, we decided to leave early in the morning, as we had to cover a long distance. When I informed them, they arranged some dry breakfast in just 5 minutes. Thanks to them for their hospitality and cooperation.

We stayed for 2 nights in MPT Mukki resort. It is very close to Mukki core zone gate. Mr. Yadhuraj from MPT resort has helped us with trip planning and jeep safari bookings for 2 days in core zones. Rooms are super spacious, with river facing balcony. All staff members are very cooperative. For morning safari which starts at early 5:30am, they gave box full of assorted breakfast items. All 3 meals are buffet and have good mix of veg and non veg spreads. Food is delcious yet taste like home. We enjoyed our stay in Kanha Mukki resort. If you are planning Kanha visit, plan 3 months advance and book Jeep safari for Mukki core zone for Tiger sighting. Compared to other core zones i.e Kisli and Kanha, chances of Tiger sighting in Mukki is highest. We had Tiger sighting in day-1 in Mukki and we were very lucky to have Leopard sighting in Kanha core zone in day-2.

We had the best experience here at the hotel. The team was the most courteous and helpful in organizing activities for us. We had booked only two safaris online but with their help, we were able to complete 4 safaris in 2 days including a night safari and canter safari(exclusive for inhouse guests). There is nothing to say about anything separately for the property, rooms or food. Everything is just perfect. Whenever we were in the morning safari, we were served with a packed breakfast. We spent 3 nights and 4 days here but it wasn't enough. We never wanted to leave but carried with us the most memorable moments.

I had a pleasant two- night stay at resort Serenity. The staff was friendly, and the location was ideal for exploring the natural vegetation|The room was spacious and spotless.The front desk staff was welcoming...|We also go on a natural trail with Bishnu sir, it was an amazing and thrilling experiance with him.

This is a beautiful place by the side of the Banjar river, just before the Mukki Gate of Kanha forest. If you are driving down for Jabalpur, it is the farthest, but the drive is worth it. You can soak in the jungle feel through winding roads amidst unending array of sal trees. ||Finally when you reach this place, your are greeted by very very courteous people at the reception and a beautifully decorated waiting area. We booked super deluxe ac rooms, very big, spacious and with sufficient amenities. One has to have realistic expectations as you cannot except fancy hotel's amenities here. There are shortcomings, but then what exactly you are looking for matters. You feel definitely one with nature, there is a beautiful garden and , surprisingly, amazing range of adventure activities for kids at absolutely no extra cost. I am sure many fancy resorts will charge a bomb for these. ||One can book the treehouses for a more authentic jungle feel, however, they are slightly secluded. The other cottages are equally good, rather closer tot he dining area. They had set menu , kind of repetitive, but decent. The staff is courteous and helping, though one must not expect lightning speed room service. ||There is a beautiful swimming pool overlooking the river. If one ventures in a nature trail (guides available too) , there is a watch tower and an amazing highly underrated skywalk. I don't know why MPT doesn't advertise it more, it is amazing indeed as one almost reaches over the river while walking on it. Post rains, it must be more beautiful. ||In March, the place is covered by a thick sheet of fallen leaves. It feels so strange to walk on them, not being able to see the ground. MPT Panna had a problem of stray animals, thankfully, not so much here. A group of langurs did come once to check on everything. ||Its a beautiful getaway amidst nature, definitely recommended. Only cons is that this place is not too wheelchair friendly, maybe the management can look into that.

As a frequent traveler and a staunch supporter of government-run services, I have consistently chosen public-sector accommodations over private options--driven by a commitment to contribute to state initiatives. However, my recent experience with MP Tourism's Tiger Safari Lodge at Mukki Gate, Kanha Tiger Reserve, has left me disillusioned, disappointed, and compelled to write this review as a public record of failure.||||From the moment I stepped into the room, I was greeted not with the warmth of hospitality, but with a persistent foul stench that made the stay deeply unpleasant. The bathroom was in even worse condition. The bath tap was broken and barely functional. To make matters worse, the toilet seat cover didn't even fit the WC properly--an issue that any halfway competent maintenance team should have spotted and fixed long ago.||||Hospitality should be honest, if nothing else. Unfortunately, this too was missing. On the morning of checkout, we were slapped with arbitrary charges for two water bottles handed to us at breakfast. No one mentioned these would be chargeable. Only after a firm protest were the charges reluctantly waived--an incident that reeks of either mismanagement or a petty revenue trick.||||Dining, often a highlight of any stay, turned into a test of tolerance. The food was stale, tasteless, and lacking even the basic freshness expected from a government-certified lodge. The dining arrangements were even more disconcerting: guests were expected to serve papads and chapatis without tongs, using bare hands. This not only violated basic hygiene norms but also showed an alarming level of disregard for guest health and safety.||||If that wasn't enough, power outages were frequent and lasted long enough to make the sweltering heat unbearable. In a location known for extreme weather, the lack of backup power solutions is both negligent and inexcusable.||||This experience has not only diminished my confidence in MP Tourism--it has forced me to rethink my longstanding support for government-run hospitality. While I once took pride in choosing public-sector lodges over flashy private resorts, this ordeal has served as a grim reminder that good intentions cannot substitute for professionalism, maintenance, or dignity in service.||||I share this feedback not simply to complain, but in the hope that someone within MP Tourism takes this as a wake-up call. Government-run tourism facilities have the potential to be outstanding ambassadors of the state. But unless they meet basic standards of hygiene, hospitality, and infrastructure, they risk becoming cautionary tales instead of points of pride.||||To see public-sector tourism sink to such lows is not just sad--it is shameful. MP Tourism must recognize that state-run does not have to mean second-rate. Until such standards are upheld, I--and many like me--will be forced to look elsewhere.

Our visit to the MPT Tourist Lodge at Kanha started with a wonderful surprise. We had got delayed reaching there. (3 pm) and were afraid that we would not get any lunch that late. To our pleasant surprise, not only was the buffet kept available; we later found that the senior staff had not had their own lunch (they explain that they could not have a proper lunch until all the guests had finished). A positive start indeed.||The rooms allotted were spotlessly clean and spacious. The staff was very helpful. Some of our group were Jains and others ranged from eggetarian to nov-veg lovers. All of us were carefully catered to; and every evening the chef, sought suggestions as to what could be prepared to meet all the requirements. Most importantly, all this was done without an air of doing something special. ||Being avid nature lovers, we went for all the Safaris and had the benefit of proper wake up calls at 5 AM each morning. The packed breakfast to eat while on Safari was decent and sumptuous.||The location of the tourist lodge is also wonderful, it is close to the Mukki gate to enter early in the morning. On the rear, is the Banjar river which makes for a lovely and scenic walk in the woods, and the naturalist Mr. Bishnu took us for a nature walk for a couple of hours. This was on the evenings when we did not go for the Safari. ||Since those coming to the Lodge are mainly coming for the wildlife (and there is no specific review review for the sanctuary itself); it is worth mentioning that not just the hotel staff, but even most of the Guides (regrettably not all) were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Thus, though not connected with the lodge as such, it is worth particularly, mentioning that the Safaris were outstanding. In 6 such outings, each of our jeeps had at least 4 tiger sightings (2 at extremely close range - different tigers on each occasion). What more can ask for?||To top it all, the credit of the Forest guards and the drivers of the Safari jeeps, I must end with a mention that, one of our colleagues (while he was busy photographing, dropped his wallet inside the forest). A jeep following on the same path much later, noticed it; picked it up, took the trouble to identify where we were staying and our Lodge management coordinated with the Guard/ driver for the wallet to be returned safely. It speaks volumes of the dedication of the staff who are often not recognised in befitting manner. ||I don't think I can say anything more positive except to suggest to all wildlife lovers - do visit, Kanha. Of course,the arrangements I have referred to at the Lodge are not luxurious, but are more than comfortable for somebody who is primarily focused on the wildlife. Remember that this is in the middle of the jungle. This is definitely worth a visit.

Mr. Bishnu Nishad is a young and energetic field guide who led me to a wonderful morning nature walk of nearly 5 kms in the adjoining forests of MPT mukki. It was very refreshing and i could receive indepth and wonderful insights into nature and it's creatures. Bishnu, keep it up..! Keep honing your skills. You are very good at explaining and communicating. You will evolve into a veteran naturalist one day. All the best. ||The accommodation at MPT mukki was very refreshing and staff are very courteous and food preparation hygienic and tasty.
