It's a fine dining good restaurant. Taste is good .its different . I won't say very amazing but yeah one can try. Less spicy but good quality ingredients are used. Staff and ambience is great. Overall one should try once. But filter coffee was a disappointment. Rest everything was good

It's a good cozy place to dine in with friends and family. They have variety of south indian dishes and taste is good. Less spicy. We ordered basic dishes Benne masala dosa, idly vada combo and masala uttapam. Filter coffee is not upto the mark. Overall ambience is good.

I recently visited Banana Leaf in Ujjain for breakfast, and it was a delightful experience. The ambiance has a clean, traditional touch that complements the South Indian theme well. I tried the Rawa Upma, which was light, fluffy, and perfectly seasoned. It had just the right balance of texture and flavor, making it a comforting start to the day. The Filter Coffee was another highlight--strong, aromatic, and served piping hot in a traditional steel tumbler, just like it should be. What stood out the most was the little surprise at the end: a serving of Magai Paan. It was refreshing and added a unique finishing touch to the meal. If you're in Ujjain and looking for a place that offers authentic South Indian flavors, Banana Leaf is definitely worth a visit.

A Must-Visit Vegetarian South Indian Restaurant in Ujjain! My recent visit to Banana Leaf in Ujjain was an unexpectedly delightful culinary experience. Located conveniently in the heart of the city, this restaurant is a haven for anyone who loves authentic South Indian food -- especially those looking for a clean, vegetarian, and spiritually aligned dining spot in a sacred city like Ujjain. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. The interiors are clean, simple, and well-maintained, giving a calm and peaceful vibe that's perfect after a long day of driving and travel. The place was moderately crowded, but the staff was extremely courteous, organized, and quick to seat us without much delay. We ordered the some dosas and get 2 packed for one of my friends. Every single item served was fresh, aromatic, and bursting with traditional flavors. The dosas were perfectly crisp, the chutneys had a homemade touch, and the sambhar was rich and comforting. The thali was a complete meal in itself -- fulfilling, nutritious, and beautifully presented on a banana leaf, enhancing the overall experience. The menu is nit limited to south Indian food. It includes north Indian and local dishes and some chaat options also. One thing I deeply appreciated was their commitment to maintaining a pure vegetarian menu, ideal for those on a spiritual diet or visiting during temple rituals. It's very rare to find such balance between taste and dietary discipline. The service deserves a special mention -- the staff were attentive, smiling, and always ready to help with suggestions. They made sure we had enough accompaniments and served everything with genuine hospitality. Overall, Banana Leaf is not just a restaurant, it's a wholesome experience. Whether you're a tourist, a pilgrim, or a local, this place is definitely worth visiting. I left with a satisfied stomach and a happy heart. Will surely return here every time I come back to Ujjain!

This restaurant is the best place to eat south indian food in all of Ujjain. However, the only downside is that the food takes a long time to be delivered. Over all, it's a very good place to eat and have fun with your friends and family.

*Decent Dosa, Poor Service* I stopped by this dosa restaurant with moderate expectations, and that's exactly what I got - a decent experience. The dosas were tasty, with a good variety of options, but nothing that truly stood out. The real letdown was the service, which was slow and unfriendly. Our server seemed overwhelmed, and it took ages to get our order taken and food served. The ambiance was basic and lacking charm, which didn't help to elevate the experience. While the dosas were edible, the poor service and uninviting atmosphere made it hard to justify a return visit. Maybe they were having an off day, but for now, it's an average spot for dosa lovers. *Rating:* 2.5/5 stars *Tip:* If you're in the area and craving dosa, you might give it a shot, but be prepared for inconsistent service.

I have heard alot about banana leaf and had gone there expecting good food and service unfortunately it was the worst experience I could have. The people serving where not at all attentive we had to ask multiple times just to get simple things done, we order fresh lime soda which was tasteless, the oil quality was bad. There was a foul smell of washroom in the eating area which was extremely unpleasant. Overall I was disappointed with this place and I would not recommend it.
