Customer Reviews & Testimonials

Vishvas Trikutkar

Review of Joshi Bhojnalay, Akkalkot Joshi Bhojnalay, located near the Shri Swami Samarth Vatvruksh Mandir in Akkalkot, is a gem for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Maharashtrian cuisine. This simple yet delightful eatery specializes in serving thali meals that feel like a warm, home-cooked feast. The thali includes a variety of items such as sabji (vegetable curry), roti, dal, chawal (rice), and chutney, many of which are served unlimited, allowing you to enjoy your meal to your heart's content. The flavors are simple, comforting, and reminiscent of traditional Maharashtrian home-cooking, making it a perfect option for those seeking a wholesome meal after visiting the temple. One standout item is the fresh and tasty buttermilk, which is not just refreshing but also a perfect complement to the meal. The location adds to the convenience, being very close to the Vatvruksh Mandir, making it an ideal stop for pilgrims and visitors. The simplicity and authenticity of the food, combined with its homely feel, truly set Joshi Bhojnalay apart. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Akkalkot and looking to relish traditional Maharashtrian flavors in a welcoming atmosphere.

Visited this place for dinner during our stay in Akkalkot, drawn by its high ratings, but it was a disappointing experience. The location is tricky to find, and the seating is very uncomfortable for elders. Although the food was served quickly, we found a large insect in the daal and hair in the rice twice--clearly highlighting poor hygiene practices. The small size of the place is acceptable, but basic cleanliness should never be compromised. Definitely not recommended.

Date of visit: 28/01/2025 Disappointing Experience: We recently visited with our family of four. Unfortunately, our experience was quite underwhelming. * Parking Nightmare: Finding parking near the restaurant was a major challenge. The lack of designated parking spaces caused significant inconvenience. We had to park 1 km away from here and walk in scorching sun. * Uncomfortable Seating: The benches were uncomfortable and made it difficult to sit properly and enjoy our meal. We could not even hold our toddle on the lap * Poor Service: The service was extremely slow and inefficient. We had to wait an unusually long time for our food to arrive. * Rude Staff: The staff, including the owner, were quite rude and unhelpful. Their attitude made our dining experience unpleasant. * Mediocre Food: While the food was okay, it wasn't anything special. But its home cooked. Overall: We were highly disappointed with our visit. The lack of parking, uncomfortable seating, poor service, and rude staff significantly impacted our dining experience. We would not recommend this restaurant to others. I hope this review helps!

This hidden gem is a must-visit destination, conveniently located within walking distance from the revered Swami Samarth Mandir. The culinary experience is truly exceptional, offering homely yet delectable food that's remarkably easy to digest. Indulge in generous portions of rice, chapati, and sabzi without worrying about discomfort or bloating. A truly amazing dining experience that comes highly recommended!

A recommended place if you are looking for a homely hot meal at Akkalkot. Hardly 5 minutes away from the temple. Just remember that they only offer full vegetarian thali. It's unlimited except for taak and papad.

Authentic maharashtrian style veg thali you will get here which is good in taste and delicious. Only veg thali for .120 they serve...one can order shrikhand/Amrakhand which tastes good too. I tried both, I will prefer shrikhand. Hardly 5-10 mins away from mandir, we went for dinner... One can go for dinner by 8.30 because later on waiting will be there for 15 20mins. Good Food, quick service...surely worth the hype and mandatory to have food here when in Akkalkot.
