The crab curry impressed with its perfectly cooked, flavorful crab and a curry thick enough to cling lovingly to rice bhakri and fluffy steamed rice. Speaking of bhakri, it's worth noting its flawless execution--thin, medium-sized, and beautifully cooked. The shrimp masala, a Malvani delight, showcased impeccably fresh, medium-sized shrimp, skillfully fried and coated in a fragrant masala that tantalized the taste buds. For dessert, the aamras stood out as a nostalgic treat, evoking the essence of a grandmother's recipe with its light mango sweetness, a touch of sugar, and a whisper of black cardamom. Kasturi Restaurant is situated in Alibag Maharashtra also called Kasturi Mahila Gruh Udyog, is a welcoming restaurant serving a range of home-cooked meals. The same-named women's cooperative runs it. Popular dishes at Kasturi include Maharashtrian thalis and the unique Maharashtrian dal amti. The food there has a homely, soothing flavour. Fish, mutton, chicken, and vegetable thalis are well-known. You need to be very patient throughout the weekend because there is less staff to oversee, but you will receive less complaints after eating well.

Hidden gem in Alibag. Food is homely, hygienic, tasty and served fresh. We ordered veg thalis, surmai fry, solkadhi and modaks. Everything tasted good. They have one server who manages the customers so in case of crowd service might be slow. We went on a weekday and it was decently full but not crowded or wait time. Price is also very affordable. Highly recommended.

I am totally disappointed. With much enthusiasm I went there this Sunday with my husband, new born and toddler to have lunch. At the time we reached the place was nearly full but it could be manageable. However, we waited 1hour and still our food was not served. My baby stared crying and we had to leave without eating. It was utter disappointment. A mismanagement and unorganised system made us had a bitter experience. I will not recommend this place if you ask me. Food I never tasted, ambiance was clean but seating was uncomfortable and stuff is incompetent ( forgive me it is true). They failed to manage properly.

A nice place to have tasty and authentic Konkani cuisine in Alibaug. This food hub is run by all ladies and serving the traditional food. Food takes too long to serve but the taste and quality of every dish is amazing and unique. Having food here, people have to came with lots of time to spare in the name of having Lunch. Minimum one hour plus time required for your thali to be in your table. Service can be improved with proper management. Please take interest & initiative in upgrade your services specially for TIME management. We ate Surmai/Pomfret/Mutton Thali. Clean ambiance.

One of the famous spots for homemade food especially seafood.... Only Thali system... During peak hours i.e. lunchtime is highly crowded... Food was good... They can increase the supporting staff, for better management... If you have the patience to wait 30-60 minutes then only visit the place .... Enjoy

The food was great but the professionalism was missing. As I understand, this place became famous because some influencers featured it. We randomly selected this place from google maps as we were hungry. This is entirely self service. So even to get the tables cleared is a chore. I think they have been overwhelmed by the response. It is run entirely by women and with a little bit of training they can surely improve service. I also believe such places need to be supported because they have great food and give livelihood to a lot of locals The Surmai was tasty but the portion was small.
