Hotel Opal

Visited Hotel Opal during my trip to Kolhapur and it truly lives up to its reputation for authentic Kolhapuri cuisine. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the Mutton Thali, especially the Tambda and Pandhra Rassa - both packed with rich, traditional flavors that are a must-try for anyone visiting the city. The food was delicious and served hot, and the staff was extremely courteous and attentive, which made the experience even better. While the prices are slightly on the higher side, the taste and quality of the food, along with the clean and welcoming ambiance, make it absolutely worth it. If you're in Kolhapur and looking to try local non-veg delicacies, Hotel Opal should definitely be on your list.

We family of 4 stayed for 2 nights 30th and 31st May 2025. We had taken 2 rooms. Rooms were very clean, spacious and upto the mark. Toilets were also very clean. Food was good. Buffet breakfast was with sufficient variety and tasty. In food you should specifically taste the different thallis. Room service also good Location of the hotel is also easily accessible. Overall very satisfied

This is located in a commercial and residential area. It has some good shopping and restaurant options nearby. The rooms are large, spacious and clean. The staff is helpful. Parking is available in the basement. The in house breakfast is good - we liked the misal. Pohe, omelette, sheera were good too. Overall will pick this place to stay for our next visit.

I had the opportunity to stay at Hotel Opel, located conveniently near the heart of the city and just a short drive from the famous Mahalaxmi Temple. Dining Experience - 4/5 The in-house restaurant served a mix of Indian, Chinese, and local Maharashtrian cuisine. The breakfast buffet had good variety - from poha and upma to toast and tea. I particularly enjoyed their Kolhapuri thali, which was flavorful and authentic. Room service was prompt, and the staff was courteous. Cleanliness & Maintenance - 4.5/5 One of the highlights of my stay was the cleanliness. The common areas, corridors, and rooms were all well-kept. Housekeeping staff did a great job and were responsive to requests. Staff & Service - 4/5 The front desk staff were polite and professional. Check-in and check-out were smooth. They were also helpful in arranging local transport and offering guidance on nearby attractions. Some communication delays happened during peak hours, but nothing major. Location & Accessibility - 5/5 Situated on Pune-Bangalore Highway (NH-4), Hotel Opel is easily accessible. It's close to key landmarks like Rankala Lake, New Palace, and Mahalaxmi Temple. Also ideal for those travelling onwards toward Goa or Pune. Other Amenities - 3.5/5 The hotel offers ample parking, free Wi-Fi, and conference facilities. However, a fitness center or recreational area could be added to enhance the experience further. Verdict: Hotel Opel in Kolhapur is a great mid-range option offering comfort, cleanliness, and good food at reasonable prices. Whether you're a tourist or a business traveller, it's a reliable choice for a relaxed stay.

Pathetic test & quality, over hyped & over priced, Aalani soup was just like boiled water... overall thali was very average....much better choices available like hotel Parakh & Surves non veg

This restaurant is a must stop for my family everytime we either visit Kolhapur or pass by the city, being a little closer to the highway ,we don't waste much time even if it is pit stop on your way. The food here surprises is every single time and the taste hygiene and quality is so well maintained over the years . We have been visiting Opal for over a decade now, a restaurant/hotel we discovered just while passing through the city and have never missed an opportunity t dine here

Great place to stay if you want to Halt for a night on your way to Bengaluru or Goa. Rooms are clean and neat, their breakfast is complementary and really have good taste with lot of good items and is unlimited. Even their meals are good.

We had went for dinner and it was awesome as the food was really different what we were expecting. Proper thali system with unlimited rice, chapati or bhakri along with tamda and pandra rasa..
