Kokan Katta

We ordered chicken malvani it was tasty, also we ordered vade which was freshly prepared & served. Rates are also reasonable for chicken items & service is also good. Must visit place for homely kokan style food in matheran. Solkadi is also must try as it tastes good.

If anybody wants to have authentic taste of konkani food in matheran then please visit these "konkan katta" restaurant. Authentic konkani taste. And specially solkadhi which is very soothing. We tried prawns thali which was very tasty and budget friendly. Loved it.

Very bad experience.. Fraud hotel kokan katta.. We ordered papalet thali. Its price was 400 rupees on the menu card, so we ordered it. Then when we got the bill there, we were told that it was not 400 rupees. It was 600 rupees. 600 rupees is very expensive. When the biller asked his waiter, he was told that he had already told the customer the price. But he didn't say anything first. The taste was not even a little good. There is a hotel in the name of Konkan but it does not have even a little taste. If you go there, ask the price carefully.

Just an amazing experience. I loved the food. Bombil fry was just top notch. Prawns were good.

Family run small eatery opposite to the train station. Fast service and big menu promises a lot of surprises. Food is very much average and has immense scope of improvement. Cleanliness doesn't live up to expectation. Overall a touristic trap that does not live up to the hype.

We tried Prawns Thali here in Kokan Katta and it was sooo yummy like home made kokani food. We loved their food, so delicious and so tasty. Especially their prawns masala fry was top notch and their Solkadi which is perfect and so soothing. Taste 5/5 Service 5/5 Budget friendly.

We ordered chicken masala and they said it wasn't available so they said only egg curry is available. Imagine at 2pm they dont have ghavne, bhakri and chicken curry ready to serve the guests. Then we ordered bombil fry which was very oily and it cost 160bucks for just 2 bombil and you can see the egg curry quantity in the plate for 120bucks clearly which is expensive. Rotis were soft but not warm. Seating is good. Fish was not fresh it was very chewy. Curry was not good too.
