Customer Reviews & Testimonials
Kokan Katta offers authentic Malvani cuisine with standout dishes like Surmai Curry, Bombil Fry, and Bangda Fry. The generous portions and reasonable prices make it a must-visit for seafood enthusiasts.
One of the best seafood joint in North Mumbai. Nice ambience and tasty food. We loved the Thali. Meal size is also good. Must try for all seafood lovers.
Good place to have Konkani food. It seems good for sea food, though I didn't have any. I had ordered a chicken thali which was really good. Zunka/Pitle Bhakri is also good. Kothimbir wadi was also nice. I had jwari as well as rice bhakri, both were nicely prepared. I even had Ghavne which were good too. Soul kadi could have been better but that's ok. Looking at the place, it appears that their sea food must be awesome. Do try. Their service was quite fast and ambience is good too. Staff is courteous and pricing is reasonable. Sitting area is quite comfortable and they have AC as well as non AC sitting areas. Connectivity is good. Overall it's a good place to have food. Must try place.
Worst food i ever eat as a Malvani guy test less boiler chiken used in kombadi vade literally we waste food because you can't eat without test I thin spend all investment on interior only... worst place to eat...
Just had a fantastic meal at Kokan Katta in Malad, and I gotta say, it was a true taste of Konkan! For all my seafood lovers out there, this place is a must-try. Here's what I devoured (and absolutely recommend) Khekda Thali : This crab thali was the star of the show! The khekda curry was bursting with flavor, and the accompaniments like solkadi and rice were perfect. Spl Chicken Thali : Even my non-seafood loving friend was impressed with this chicken thali. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the gravy was delicious. Bombil Fry: Crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside, these Bombay Duck fries were simply divine. Prawns Koliwada : A Konkan classic done right! The prawns were juicy and flavorful, with a hint of spice. Surmai Tawa Fry: This kingfish fry was cooked to perfection. The fish was fresh and flaky, and the masala was incredibly flavorful. Overall, Kokan Katta is a hidden gem in Malad. The food is delicious, the service is friendly, and the prices are reasonable. I left feeling happy, satisfied, and already planning my next visit! Pro Tip: Make sure you try their Solkadi, it's the perfect way to cool down your palate after all that delicious seafood!
They had some sort of shoot happening and the servers were all occupied. On a Sunday afternoon. Who does that? Surely there is a more suitable time? We almost left. After the meal, we wish we had. The Bombil fry was heavy on the salt. The Tisrya masala had mostly empty clam shells. We tried the amboli and ghavne with it. They were too thick. The only half decent dish was the jawla kismoor. The sol kadi was good. The kharwas was too sweet and had been steamed too long. But the service was the worst part of the experience. We had to draw their attention by waving and almost yelling for every single thing. There was plenty of staff inefficiently strolling around. And then they add a service charge. Imagine that! To top it all, they gave us a bill that wasn't ours!
Food is great. I had my son's Birthday celebration with close to 20 guests. Kombdi wade was worth noting. Overall food quality is worth the trip. My only grouse is the extremely slow service. I had to follow up multiple times with the servers on the status of my order. If you are ready to ignore the service speed then you will definitely enjoy the food.
Let's try it Once we entered inside feel so peaceful with the atmosphere around. Sitting arrangements is perfect with nice interior which directly impressed our mind containing sea food related items plus some old traditional things which we're using at our native place for cooking. Honestly speaking as I am from konkan i didn't got the taste which I always eat and enjoy at my home town. May be they're thinking about all kind of people. Sea food is quite ok not that much spicy even not like malwani Or konkani food. Inside sitting arrangements is perfect and pleasant compare to outside area. You can go for Thali if you're confused what to order. Overall I can say it's moderate one in terms of food and little bit costly in terms of pricing. But yes you all can try it once if you are sea food lover. As it's my own experienced I have described above you all can try by instructing their cook your own preference. Sweets like kharvas, gulab jamun available. Solkadhi you have to try definitely as it is speciality of malawani food. Drink options are available along with different variety of sea food. Apart from that family can visit here and enjoy food by sitting altogether.
