Mao This restaurant is a fairly large no frills place just under the Azad nagar metro station in Andheri west. They are the typical Indian Chinese mughlai type place. It has no frills and is just about the food. We tried the Mutton kepsa which is a rice based dish. We went for a half serving which can very easily serve 4-5 people with very healthy appetites. very pocket friendly. We had a Thai prawn soup, which was hearty and had a good quantity of prawn. The sizzling prawn in Plum sauce is not a sizzler in the conventional sense since it doesn't come with carbs of any sort. The chicken baida roti was tasty, crisp, well made.

We visited here for dinner on a Sunday night and the place was already packed when we went in. Service was average as Stewards were not very active at the work and had to reach out/call them for every small things like plates and spoons. I am sure they can surely work on this. For food we tried Chicken Manchow Soup, Chicken platter in Appetizers which had Chicken Tandoori, Chicken Pahadi Tikka, Chicken Banjara Kabab, Chicken Seekh, Chicken Tikka,etc. Butter Rotis and Murgh Begumbahar for mains and Lime Soda in beverage. Their food was very good especially I loved their kababs which was very well marinated and grilled to perfection. The marination of each of them were brilliant. Manchow Soup was average as there was unnecessary use of too much Schezwan sauce in soup which actually spoiled the taste. Maincourse was very good and the gravy of Murgh Begumbahar was perfect and went very well with rotis. Lime Soda was disappointing which actually spoiled the entire mood. The worst lime soda ever had in my life. There wasn't any difference between their lime soda and cough syrups. I wish I had not ordered this to spoil my mood. Overall a good place for mughlai food and would certainly return for the same but a big no to other things.

I just have 2 problems. 1. The quantity of half chicken platter was way to less, 2. Need more options for Soft drink. Well the ambiance is super great. Very convenient to travel via metro. I found they took a bit of time to prepare our order. Talking about taste for starter it was good. Again quantity issue. And than comes this hungama kepsa (half) god the quantity for this a lot. Taste wise a good try. It's a good visit.

Excellent place!! One of the Best place to had Non-veg cuisine. Ambience is well designed, staffs were very polite. Has many tables, so that there's no waiting for tables. Location is awesome, its very much near by metro station. It is a Family place. Kepsa biryani is popular dish. I'll suggest you to have Chicken Tikka Kepsa, Chicken Tandoori. Portion of food is really good. It's very hygienic and inexpensive place. According to me average cost of per person will be 300 or maximum 400. And food presentation was good. Taste of food is genuinely very awesome. So it's highly recommended place....

Nice set-up. Good Indian food. Shawarma too was good. Chinese needs some upgrading. Five star rating for Indian Food. The Chinese food was okay. The taste & spices were good only the quality of rice wasn't up to the mark.

Mao's kitchen is famous for their Kepsa, we decided to try one today - i.e. the Hungama Kepsa. The service by the waiting staff was good, and they kept us busy till the time the main dish arrived. We had ordered a half Hungama Kepsa for 4 persons. when the food arrived, we were are dazzled and mesmerized by the aroma and the presentation of the food. the portion size was also quite amazing as all four of us ate till our tummy was over full and still we had something left on the serving plate. I can't really put down the taste here, but trust me all 4 of us like the food so much, that we decided that going forward, this would be our go-to-dish atleast once a month. Portion of food is really good. It's very hygienic and inexpensive place. According to me average cost of per person will be 300 or maximum 400. And food presentation was good. Taste of food is genuinely very awesome. Mao Restaurant is a reliable choice for a satisfying meal in Andheri West. It has a warm and inviting atmosphere, with comfortable seating and friendly staff. Worst Experience Ever "Our experience at this restaurant was deeply disappointing. We suffered from food poisoning(Headache/vomiting), clearly reflecting a serious lapse in hygiene and food safety. Avoid such establishments that compromise on quality and guest well-being." Not recommended at all. 3rd Class Restaurant
