One of the famous misals stop in Thane, The original place They serve plenty of Maharashtrian food(mostly snacks) misal(normal/midium/extra spicy) batata vada sabudaana vada and other maharashtrian snacks, also during lunch thy serve poli bhaji dal rice Mostly busy during weekdays as it's official govt canteen. Opens at 7.30am Cozy sitting Buttermilk and lussi were okay as earlier thir taste was much better. Would prefer to order tea Parking is big issue always... Park properly to avoid fines...or towing

I had heard about this place from a lot of people, however, my experience was disappointing. I have had the best Misal Pav be it from Kolhapur, Nashik, Pune or Baroda. I also know that the pattern / taste / ingredients of each one of them is much different from each other, however I did not find it to that level. Maybe I visited on Sunday and it was crowded, but that shouldn't deteriorate their quality.

After years of hearing about this place and planning to try, finally the day arrived and I visited this place with my wife and close friend. And I confirm it's true to the hype ! As expected there was a queue and there were 7-8 in front of us. But the queue was cleared in no time and all the credit goes to prompt service and the management. The place is tiny but well managed. We tried medium spicy misal and the taste was super awesome. I also loved the tea there. All in all it was worth the efforts. Avoid taking car if you are going after 9.30 AM as there is literally no parking available.

Good place but you may need to wait. So a better plan is to consider the peak time feature in the Google map. Masala Papad: 4.5/5 (Worth it) Misal: Best in Mumbai (Grape embassy of Nashik still tops) Order buttermilk with misal, best combination.

Hotel Review: Tahsildar Office Canteen, Thane West If you're near Thane Railway Station and craving authentic, spicy Maharashtrian food, the Tahsildar Office Canteen is a hidden gem worth exploring. Known for its legendary Mamledar Misal, this place serves a punch of fiery flavors that every spice lover will appreciate. Food Review: Mamledar Misal (71.42): Packed with bold flavors, it's the star of the menu! The misal is perfectly spiced, and the rassa (gravy) has a depth of flavor that keeps you hooked. Extra Pav (4.76 per piece): Fresh and soft, these pavs are ideal for soaking up the spicy rassa. Extra Rassa (4.76): A lifesaver for those who want more of the zesty, spicy curry. Lassi (Full) (42.86): A sweet and refreshing balance to the fiery misal. It cools down your palate and completes the meal beautifully. Ambiance: The canteen has a simple, no-frills setup that resonates with traditional canteen vibes. It's clean, functional, and gives off a nostalgic charm. Value for Money: For the price, the food is incredibly satisfying, especially if you're a fan of robust flavors. The reasonable pricing makes it an ideal spot for a hearty, pocket-friendly meal. Tips: Be prepared for a spice kick if you're trying Mamledar Misal for the first time. Pair it with lassi or carry some water if you're not used to spicy food. Try to visit during off-peak hours, as it can get crowded during lunch hours. Rating: 4.5/5 Highly recommended for misal lovers and anyone seeking authentic Maharashtrian cuisine near Thane Railway Station!

I tried Misal here on a weekend. I loved it. I opted a spicy one. I could taste the flavour of all spices. The spices make it special I believe. Crowded in evening on a weekend though. Still worth having the misal at this famous eatery in Thane.

Situated in the hustling thane railway station this mishal pav centre serves a really good mishal pav. Amitabh bachan's favourite mishal here in Mumbai he says. The buttermilk here is exceptional and one among the best I ever had . Lovely. Decent ambience as well.

SOURABH PATIL

Well first of all, I'm from kolhapur and misal from my place is top notch, incomparable to anywhere else. So, I've been in mumbai since 2 years and have tried various misal almost 5-10 misals. And Mamledar was definitely amongst the top of them all. I ate from the Tahasildar office outlet near Thane railway station. I had Taak(chaas) and coffee as well which were average. The taste was good. Quantity was less and ambience was not so good. In all I would say this was the best misal in Mumbai so far. If you want to eat the best in the entire country then visit Kolhapur.
