Friggitoria - Pescheria "Frisc & Mang" Bari

A street trattoria specializing in seafood where more important than beautiful decorations, evenly spaced tables and access to a toilet are the specific and tasty meals... floating in the nearby sea the day before. The atmosphere of the place is therefore its disadvantage and advantage - it depends on what someone expects. I always expect good food, so I ordered an octopus sandwic while my friend ordered tuna tartare. The sandwich met expectations, but I wouldn't call it the best in Bari. When we are dealing with octopus, lettuce, bread and a bit of lemon juice, nuances matter a lot. The tartare was very tasty, thickly cut, served with additions from plastic packaging (e.g. olive oil). I definitely do not recommend this place to those who want to eat exquisitely and in a quiet atmosphere. However, fans of sea, pirate flavors should be very pleased!

The best restaurant in town with everything you can dream and wish for eating, concerning the sea food! The lady who took care of us, is my favorite person in Bari... she is the best! I highly recommend it!!!

I write these reviews specifically for those who look them up before dining at a restaurant in a foreign country. I often do the same, but today I was too hungry and sat down without checking the reviews first. Trust me when I say they were accurate. The food was utterly disappointing, both in presentation and flavor, served in plastic containers. I understand space might be limited, but if the food had been delicious, that might not have mattered. We ordered pasta with seafood (see attached picture), which was terrible; the fritto misto was almost raw and filled with fish entrails; and the riso patate e cozze was drenched in oil (picture included). This is not the place to dine for anyone on vacation wanting to savor the best of what Italy has to offer.

A lovely small seafood restaurant offering fresh, high-quality dishes at very affordable prices. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for delicious seafood in a welcoming atmosphere!

Very nice place for seafood lovers. The atmosphere is authentic, food delicious and service really nice, especially guy from Georgia. Price for food is reasonable. I recommend this place.

Great seafood restaurant that is solo traveller friendly (sometimes hard to find in Europe)! Fast service with large easy to access menus in both Italian and English! You order at the counter and grab a number which they yell out to find your table which actually adds a fun interactive aspect to the whole experience! The staff are very friendly and attentive. I ordered the Cacio e Pepe Gambero - the pasta was fresh and very delicious but there were negligible amounts of prawn (maybe 3 bites haha) which is the only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars!

Fantastic street food from Bari. The place isn't fancy but seafood is absolutely fresh and it tastes delicious! The service is good but they are always yelling, so it's a bit stressful, but after few days in Italy you get used to it. My plate doesn't look great but it's a local yummy dish that everyone should taste. (Potatoes, rice, mussels and cheeses) Highly recommend.

This isn't fancy, but it's authentic. So ridiculously good. It's all fresh, a fishmonger's or fisherman's sourced restaurant. You choose what you want after getting a ticket, you pay, you wait, and you feast. We came here both days and will go every time we're in Bari.
