Taste of Kanglei - Authentic Manipuri Cuisine

If you're looking for delicious and authentic Northeast Indian cuisine in Dimapur, then Taste of Kanglei should definitely be on your list. The restaurant is located in a quiet part of the city, supermarket, and has a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. The menu at Taste of Kanglei is extensive and features a range of dishes from the Northeast region of India. The one dish that I would recommend trying at Taste of Kanglei is pork. The pork was tender and delicious. It was perfectly cooked. The service at Taste of Kanglei was also exceptional. The staff were friendly and attentive. Now here are some of the things that I was not satisfied with, the kala dal should be included in the thali but you have to pay Rs 50 extra for that. I have been to many manipuri rice hotels in the northeast region but this is the first time that I'm paying extra for the kala dal. The price is on the higher side, to be honest. Thali is 200+ pork curry 150+ kala dal 50 = 400 per plate. Of course you can't compare it with other regular manipuri rice hotels but still the price could have been better. I'm sure you'll understand what I'm trying to mean. Overall, I would recommend Taste of Kanglei for anyone looking for delicious and authentic Northeast Indian cuisine in Dimapur. The food is flavorful and the atmosphere and service are both excellent.

Limited menu, but a tasty one. Dishes are similar to the ones I had in imphal, so I think it is authentic manipuri cuisine, nice atmosphere, clean, don't know about washroom facilities as couldn't find one. Had a pork thali, nicely presented, tasty was authentic and good . Do visit rice lovers. Menu is displayed over the counter.

It's a restaurant serving authentic Mainpuri dishes.Located at supermarket area with good parking space. Beautifully furnished interiors with a sitting capacity of about 35-40 people. They are open from 10:00am to 7:00pm from Monday to Saturday. The staffs are very friendly. The Manipuri thali was great and the fish tita with brinjal was delicious. The Fish and mutton curry was good too. Price for the food was okay.

Ate like an absolute King . Brings back a lot of nostalgia, eating at roadside manipuri hotels en route to dimapur as a child. This is exactly that, improved in every way and repackaged to our expectations. Don't want to miss out on this one.

The place is beautiful. And let's not forget to mention the staff. They are extremely friendly and helpful, won't even hesitate to help you out with your order. The food was overall good and hit my taste buds at the right spots. I loved the place all in all

Overall good. Had pork and duck curry. Pork was the best of the two. Pork- the best Duck - okay Eromba - good Singju - good Kangou - good Kangsoi - okay Ooti - okay ( need little improvement in taste)

Conveniently situated. Decent and hospitable staffs. Top notch service. Beautifully decorated reflecting Manipuri culture. Above all, fresh and best food that gives gratifying experience of Manipuri food culture.

Good homely ambiance. Simple menu but satisfying. Side dishes were also good.
