The Old Inn Bandipur (Rural Heritage Accommodations)

My first trip to the popular tourist destination in Bandipur village was memorable. I selected the Old Inn to stay with my family among many local lodges. I found that this one is the best lodge in the entire Bandipur village. Staying in a building over 100 years old building which was a marvelous experience. The buildings were properly maintained with the traditional architecture and interiors intact. The organic food was excellent. All staff were attentive and well-trained. I recommend the Old Inn as the perfect retreat place enjoying nature and traditional hospitality.

The Old Inn at Bandipur delivers exactly what it promises, rustic accommodation in a 200 year old building. Built on a hillside, the building and accommodation has been sympatheticly restored to include Western style toilets, along with showers. The bed is comfortably firm. The rooms have floor fans. The food is delicious. The service is polite, friendly, and professional. Highly recommended for someone who wants a break from modern chain hotels.

Definitely mixed experience!! The building and the rooms,the verandah and the dining area are breathtakingly beautiful. Very picturesque. Very unique and old. Charming !! But that's about it Dinner was average and bland. Rooms have very old doors and windows with gaps through. Can hear every footstep outside. Could hear the neighbors loudly in the bathroom. No place for a light sleeper ! Not even basic amenities provided.dont know why. No kettle No fan. No heater. No tea.no shampoo. Old (kinda rough) bath towels and a tiny soap is all u get

Charming place, a must visit for eating and chilling on the beautiful terraces but they charge a lot of money for accommodation that doesn't have the most basic of facilities. Loved: absolutely charming, quiry heritage building, amazing views from the terraces where you are served a great breakfast. Bang in the centre of the village. Didn't love: There is no glass in the windows, only very poorly fitting shutters which don't shut, meaning a cold wind blowing through the room through the gaps and no sound insulation whatsoever. Security issues - door only has a padlock (no latch or handle) so swings open. One of us went out, the other was left asleep with a half open door for anyone to walk in to. Nepal is very safe but we do have passports, cash, devices with us which we'd like to keep. No heating in the room, if you enjoy sitting around in your coat this is for you. There is an electric blanket though, which was very welcome. No toiletries at all save a bar of soap which was all I had to wash my hair with, felt like some child on a camping trip.

The Old Inn in Bakdipour is a picturesque hotel in a beautifully maintained village in Nepal. The village has been made car-free with the combined efforts of the residents. A relief compared to the hustle and bustle of traffic in many other cities. That is why it is much easier to make contact with the local population, from young to old. The Old Inn offers well-maintained rooms, a beautiful terrace with a fantastic view and super friendly and helpful staff. The food and breakfast were excellent. The village and the hotel are definitely recommended if you visit Nepal.

We were fortunate enough to have a 2 night stay here. We really enjoyed the feeling of staying in such a classical heritage place. It was a fantastic opportunity to experience life from a bygone era, while being supported by such an attentive team. We were also delighted to enjoy a days guided trek and to learn about the Newar heritage.

Lovely rustic old buildings and super helpful staff. The restaurant was spotlessly clean and the filtered water was lovely and cool. The views from the restaurant terrace over the valley are stunning. Many thanks to the trekking guide who took us to Ramkot Village. Thank you.

What a gem of a place. Right in the middle of this little town. So old but amenities up to date. Our room had very |low ceilings of very old wood. The entrance door was tiny. The staff were lovely and couldn't be more helpful . The evening meal and breakfast so tasty and generous.
